It’s a weird thing because the movie is damn near perfect, but I’d have loved to see Tom Hanks as Andy in Shawshank Redemption.
It isn’t that Robbins is bad in the role, I don’t think he’s a great actor and his detached and kind of aloof delivery was a pretty good fit for the role, but Hanks at his absolute peak could have made the character a little more sympathetic and easier to feel for. Andy by Robbins is pretty robotic, Hanks could have made him heartbreaking.
Funny that Hanks was making Forrest Gump instead. I’ve always thought Robbins could have played a pretty good Forrest. Wouldn’t have even had to change his Shawshank affect much at all
