What do you go with. Key word being one.

Let me know if I'm missing a genre. UPDATE: Mystery/Thriller and Musical added

Copy and paste if you want.

Action

Comedy

Documentary

Foreign

Drama

Fantasy

Horror

Chick flick

Sci-fi

Sports

Western

Animated

Pre 1960

Superhero/Comic Book

Mystery/Thriller

Musical

Action - No idea. Terminator 2? Turns out this might be my least favorite genre.

Comedy - Zoolander. But why male models?

Documentary - The Best That Never Was. Man this just struck a chord with me. The King of Kong is up there.

Foreign - Seven Samurai. Fairly easy choice for me seeing as its possibly my favorite movie of all time.

Drama - This is pretty much impossible given the sheer amount of choices. There are probably 5-10 Hitchcock movies I could list here. If that's even considered a drama. I'm saying yes it's my party I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to. Godfather and Chinatown were probably the ones I would lose sleep over not picking.

Fantasy - Lord of the Rings.

Horror - Psycho. Doesn't look much like a horror nowadays but at the time it was about as bad as it gets.

Chick Flick - If the Pride & Prejudice mini series counts, the Jennifer Ehle/Colin Firth version not the 2005 crap, its definitely that. I'm going Two Weeks Notice if I cant pick a mini series.

Sci-fi - Blade Runner. Best movie of the 80's.

Sports - The Sandlot. GOAT sports movie.

Western - My favorite genre. Probably The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Ahhhhhh Lonesome Dove, Josey Wales, The Wild Bunch, Once Upona Time in the West, Tombstone, Assasination of Jessie James, The Searchers ect

Animated - The Lion King or Finding Nemo. This is tuff. My childhood or Pixar. Just kill me.

Pre 1960 - Diam M for Murder

Superhero/Comic Book - The Dark Knight. This is probably the farthest gap in between #1 and #2. Sin City is #2 but behind TDK by quite a bit.

Mystery/Thriller - Dial M For Murder

Musical - Grease. Definitely my least favorite drama. I honestly cant think of one other musical that I like.

ONLY ONE CHOICE JERK FACES NO CHEATING

Comedy--Dumb and Dumber.

Documentary--Ken Burns's Civil War doc.

Drama--Godfather II.

Horror--Exorcist.

Sci-Fi--Jurassic Park.

Sports--Friday Night Lights.

I kept it to the categories I know the most about and can pick a fairly informed winner.

Choosing one is tough, so these are off the top of my head:

Action - Terminator 2
Comedy - Dumb and Dumber
Doc - Not sure...maybe King of Kong: Fistfull of Quarters.
Foreign - Them
Drama - About Time
Fantasy - If we can count LotR trilogy, then that.
Horror - Cabin in the Woods
Chick Flick - I don't know...maybe Crazy, Stupid Love. Does Clueless count? Or Mean Girls? 16 Candles?
Sci-Fi - Jurassic Park
Sports - Sandlot
Western - Tombstone
Animated - Lion King
Pre-1960 - No idea
Superhero/Comic - Pass. If I have to choose, maybe the first Avengers.

You don't have Mystery/Thriller as a category, so I will add that. And my movie is The Prestige.

Action - Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol - Since I only get one, I want one fast paced

Comedy - Best in Show - Just so many great characters. The humor is subtle enough to not ever feel old (I think)

Documentary - Sound City - So many great stories of the recording of albums I love

Foreign - Life is Beautiful

Drama - The Godfather II. Ask me on another day and I might say Godfather I

Fantasy - Fellowship of the Ring - I would go with Return of the King, but the movie seemed to have too many endings if that makes sense

Horror - Jaws - One of my top 7-8 films of all time.

Chick flick - When Harry Met Sally - The rom-com which all others are judged by

Sci-fi - The Empire Strikes Back.

Sports - The Natural - Very rewatchable and an amazing cast

Western - The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Best movie ending ever.

Animated - Up - Succeeds in being funny and sentimental

Pre 1960 - Either Rear Window (1954) or North by Northwest (1959)

Superhero/Comic Book - The Incredibles
