I have been thinking about Land of the Lost a lot lately.

It keeps me awake at night. 10 year old Slippy was a charter member of the Kiss Army and loved playing You Should be Dancing on the jukebox at the Elks Club swimming pool and just being a kid. But Land of the Lost haunts me. My Saturday mornings revolved around it.

What was the mechanism that caused the Marshall family to go back 65 million years just by going over a waterfall on a raft? Was it a portal?

Why were the T-Rex (Grumpy) and the Allosaurus (Alice) there to fight each other? The Allosaurus was long extinct before the T-Rex appeared.

Why did the Sleestak move so slow? And why was Enik the only smart one?

And don’t get me started on Cha-Ka. Totally unrealistic.

I’m a couple of years younger than you probably. That show was freaky as shite when I was a young kid.

Or did they? As you mentioned, T. Rex and Allosaurus existed 10's of millions years apart, and never would have encountered each other. Like the movie with Will Ferrell, I always thought of it as some sort of time portal station, where animals and beings from different times / dimensions? were all tossed in together.

Fun fact, we're closer to T. Rex on the timeline than T. Rex was to Allosaurus.

My Dad used to pull that Sleestak shite on us when we were kids. Waited in the hallway until we were headed for bed.

But not a bad idea when discussing anything from Sid & Marty Krofft. Land of the Lost was probably the least trippy thing they did.

The movie was such a pile of crap - what they did to the legacy of Land of the Lost was a crime against humanity…even worse than what they did to Speed Racer.

I think they also did a reboot of this in the early 90’s

Fun Fact:
Will Ferrell's character in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is named Agent Willenholly in tribute to these characters.

Isn't the character's name Marshal Willenholly? Which is even funnier.

You are correct. Obvious dumbassery on my part.
