I think the problem with Friends is that it's too "samey" throughout it's run. It just gets too boring after a few episodes.

I am probably in the minority here. I like the show, always have and I enjoy the reruns....

Just a fun show for me to watch when I really dont want to think about things

Friends is pure garbage. It was and is meant for women and gay dudes.

It's weird for me because I love watching the show and getting massive 90s and high school nostalgia, but at the same time I think it's the silliest and most overrated show ever. The crowd or laugh track erupts in doubled over laughter and I'm just sitting there thinking "why is this funny?". I think Friends is kind of like the Nirvana of sitcoms in that it was more about culture and a moment in time than it was actually good

I like the show, too. I think the later episodes are better than the first few seasons. When Friends first went on the air, the series was supposed to make Ross (David Schwimmer) a big star. Many of the episodes are built around him. I found him to be insufferable, and apparently so did the audience. The others were unknowns and became famous instantly.

My favorite episode is the Thanksgiving one where all the secrets are revealed:
Ross smoked pot in college.
Monica broke the porch swing.
Phoebe loves Jacques Cousteau.
Rachel wasn't supposed to put meat in the trifle.
Ross stole his dad's Playboys.
Joey wants to go to the dancer girls party.
Monica and Chandler are living together.
Ross hasn't worked at the museum in a year.
Ross married Rachel in Vegas and got divorced. . . AGAIN.

Phoebe Buffay is the worst character to ever be on TV.

This.

I can watch Seinfeld, The Office, Curb, Parks and Rec, even The Cosby Show, Cheers, etc on repeat and still laugh. I just can't do it with Friends...and I was a big fan in its initial run

I am the same way. Friends was my top show as a kid. It was appointment television for our family. However, I never watch it in syndication like I do most of the shows you mentioned.

On the other hand, Everybody Loves Raymond is rising up my rankings as a dad in his late 30s. I watched it as a kid, and always thought it was ok. Now, I find it to be way funnier. The family dynamic hits home to a much greater degree as an adult.

I cannot watch an episode now, but I know that when it was on we never missed an episode.

I can sit and watch the worst episode of Seinfeld for the 100th time and feel good about it.

The show was so 90s and relatable. Once they got older with careers and marriages the show sucked. They still had occasional good episodes and moments however.

This. It had some funny parts but was not nearly as funny as the fake laughs they piped in to the point of it being distracting.
