I thought Destroyer was damn good....it's clearly not a classic like Barbarian but it's still good.

Growing up, I liked Destroyer better than Barbarian. But I was a kid.

Not even close. They dialed down the sex and violence and the score isn't remotely as good as Barbarian. Hell, the score in the first movie is one of the best in the history of cinema.

Not only was that, but she did nude in Bolero the same year. Her parents were a couple of washed up british celebs who must have been really banking on that body.

It’s good. Not as good as Barbarian but still fun.

Same for me. Although to be fair, I think I saw Destroyer first and as a kid it was awesome and freaked me out at the same time (the transformation monster part). Hell, I'm not even sure I've ever sat down and watched Barbarian start to finish (although I've seen it all).
I may need to revisit both of these as an adult.
And holy shite, I never realized that the princess chick was actually like 14/15 in real life...she looks like an adult in the movie (or at least I thought so as a kid
). And also never connected until today that she was the sister in Wonder Years either.

Destroyer is worth it just for Wilt Chamberlain and the little D'Abo girl (still older than me), but overall, it has a larger, richer set of characters.
Destroyer is also an actual Conan story. Barbarian was one of Robert Howard's Kull (the Conqueror, his earlier character) stories, adapted to Conan.
It's not as good overall, but it's still pretty good.
