Thanos gets redemption in the comics. Idk if that would be satisfying for audiences in a movie. But he’s a fantastic character and I’d hate to see him go completely

Thanos is an amazing villain. Easy to love/hate. I would like to see him get some kind of Vader-like redemption. Not sure how they could pull this off but would be great.

I'm just interested to see how they top the stakes post Thanos.

I saw that the Spider-Man sequel is called Far From Home and supposedly takes place a few minutes after the end of Avengers 4.

The thing about good writing over time is that the story starts to tell itself. It becomes a part of the story teller and you begin to feel what storytelling decisions are right and which deviatetoo far from the soul of what has come before.

In movies, you have the roles of story teller via the screenplay and the subsequent visual storytelling that has to be shown through good directing, acting, score, etc. I think the longevity of the franchise has created a stasis for good storytelling to continue through to this particular conclusion of the universe. I’m not so worried about what IW2 will bring in terms of quality wrap up and closure as I am what the next Avengers movie after that will open up with.

It might be the tallest order the MCU has taken on, which is saying something, and I have no idea how they're going to do it.

I do trust the studio and the Russo brothers, though, and I'm damn sure excited to see what they do.

Anyone else feel this way?

Nope.

It will make a billion dollars no matter what they do. Seems pretty easy to me

Haven't they already filmed it?

Think about all the things it will have to pull off:

It has a few points to tie up that, to me at least, have fairly obvious endings.

1. Cap has to die. He's been trying to commit suicide since before becoming a super soldier. He'll die holding off Thanos in a one on one battle so that Tony and the others can escape to do... whatever the final step is. Bonus points if they go back in time and Cap gets Mjolnir and is deemed worthy to wield it, as was teased in AoU. Cap, shield in one hand, hammer in the other, in a fight to the death with Thanos. RotK arrival of the Rohirrim level feels.

2. Hulk/Banner becomes Professor Hulk. A subplot of any movie Hulk has been in is the power struggle between the two. This can only end in Professor Hulk or World Breaker Hulk, and I don't think they have the stones to completely eliminate Bruce Banner.

3. Tony saves the universe. Its Tony Stark's MCU, and he has to save it. Fully foreshadowed in IW by Dr Strange. He doesn't have to die. Just win and retire.

I think we've all seen what this leads to.

Mostly, yes. But they still have reshoots scheduled through September.

Lol...yeah, that's why the premise of the OP is so stupid.

They clearly had the entire story figured out before production started on the first one. Why would it be difficult to do any of the things that the OP listed when it was all drawn out at the same time.

It's not like they wrote and made the first movie before giving the second part any thought. This isn't the Disney Star Wars universe, for frick's sake

I understand that the story's already been written and done, but do you know what the ending is? No, neither do I. So it's not stupid to speculate what it might be, how it intends to resolve a LOT of big plot threads and whether or not that will be satisfying to an audience that will have crazy high expectations.

This is false. Yes, they had a basic idea and they were working on both stories at the same time. But as ideas grow, they change, hence reshoots. But that doesn't mean 2 is automatically as good as the first one. They still have to deliver a story that makes sense and feels just as epic while making it all coherent.

Maybe this?:

Just kidding.

I think they're filming in London and Paris, so maybe a semester abroad?

Your OP specifically asked how hard it would be to resolve everything. I'm telling you that it isn't hard at all because it's already been done. Just because we don't know the ending doesn't mean shite when responding to your actual post.

What the frick are you talking about?

1) entire story = plan. They had the plan figured out before starting production on the first. This cannot be debated.

2) Reshoots are just as likely because they didn't like the original shot as it is that they want to make changes. In general those changes aren't going to be significant changes to the overall story.

3) Who gives a shite if 2 is as good as 1? That is not the discussion here. Learn to read.

4) No fricking shite that they have to deliver a story that makes sense. THAT'S ALREADY BEEN DONE. You mother frickers are acting like they are still trying to figure it out. IT'S ALREADY DONE with the exception of some reshoots that are not going to be changing the overall story, at all.

Hawkeye would be my guess. No reason to think his parole would be longer than Lang’s.

How would Clint get to Scott? If you’ve seen Ant-Man and the Wasp you would know what I’m talking about.
