LINK

It just began filming. I had no idea this was being made. They were near-perfect animated movies from beginning to end.

Gerald Butler is the only cross over to the new ones. Astrid is apparently not a Viking I guess.

Another Zendaya type replacing a classically attractive white female.

Any white blonde or red head is absolutely getting replaced by a mystery race female, or in most cases we've seen red heads get replaced by blacks.

They probably asked Google Gemini what a viking looked like.

My kids love those movies.

The first was damn near a perfect animated movie.

live-action

We're really stretching this term out these days. All of these Disney "live-action" movies have more CGI in them than anything else. Unless they are planning on using real dragons, then I'll take it back.

I hope this is more Jungle Book than Little Mermaid. If it's good my boy will love it.

From what I read the director doesn't want to do a carbon copy of the animated film. I am not sure what that means in terms of the storyline they are going for. IMO this is another one of those movies that doesn't need to be made as the animated ones were fantastic.

I get it but she played a Viking. I (not the other commenter ) wasn’t making a racial remark, but the character is different than the animated one. The actress is Thandiwe Newton’s daughter.

Could come out right around the time they open a new Universal theme park with an area devoted to these movies. Kinda marketing 101 for them. Love watching these with my kids.

What if I told you I could never tell that by her voice and this is not a live action radio program being developed.

You really came with a shitty take, didn't you?

Not sure if they could have two people to play ruffnut and tuffnut that looked less similar than those two.

I have such wonderful memories of that franchise. Just loved it.

So for that reason, I want nothing to do with this.

Hell, I'm 36 but a HTTYD section at Universal would be badass & worth checking out.

Right. They area adding that, a new HP area, a Nintendo world and a classic movie monster area. Should be open end of next year.

Actor does not equal character.
