So Aemond letting big bro king get smacked down and then evidently drawing the sword to make sure he was out of the picture was from the book or no? I think I like it this way better if not.
Definitely not in the novella. But I will allow this artistic creativity as to it adds to the show.
*judgement ruled*

How come no one has ever tried poisoning a dragon?
You gonna go close enough to a dragon to feed it?

Could you imagine the Black Dread, Vhagar, and Meraxes rolling up in that fashion?
The Conqueror, indeed.

Could poison a goat and let the dragon eat it

They seem to be, but Aemond is clearly sheathing his sword before he hears Cole call his name. He freezes in position for a second, but he was definitely sheathing the sword before he heard his name called out.
Maybe it was just because he saw the dagger and wanted to pick it up, and he definitely had Vhagar attack Aegon, so who knows?
Aegon was a few paces away from him as he pointed to where he was. He was definitely sheathing his sword to pick up the dagger

Do we think Aegon's dream was visible on the dagger such that Aemond learns of it?

had to be heated. it was just sitting on the ground and had been for a good while

It has been in dragon fire not all that long ago and if I recall correctly, Aegon's body was still smoldering.

Dragon blood was boiling the soldiers so thst could be the culprit

The dream that is so important it keeps being brought up in the show only to be forgotten in Game of Thrones. Honestly hope they don't bring that up anymore because it was one of the biggest screw ups of the many screw ups Dumb and Dumber made. Just ignoring the prophecy.

Nobody who knows about it lives through the Dance pass it on.
So when the mad king has the crazy dream, he doesn’t know what it means and it drove him mad.

Had they gotten into the lore behind the prophecy in GoT, they could have actually made the ending make sense.
Azor Ahai is the archetype (and maybe a previous incarnation) of the Prince Who Was Promised, and is only mentioned tangentially in the show. But the legend is that he had to reforge a sword and temper it with the blood of his lady love to give it the strength to defeat the menace of the Long Night. Jon killing Dany IS the way the book series HAS to end and the way the show SHOULD’VE ended, but only as a necessary step to slaying the Night King.

Show watcher only fans make me cringe with shite like that. Like bro, that dragon was alive before the conquest and helped Aegon the Conqueror and Balerion take over Westeros.
Says something makes him cringe, follows that up with an incredibly cringey comment. Well done

So I finally got caught up last night. I only have one comment:
Aemond = gangster
Aemond = gangster

Aemond would have been a great king imo

They guy who plays him is so dorky in real life. Good actor

Edit: I misread the post I was responding to and thought we were talking about Corlys Valeryon and his actor. Ewin Mitchell is also great along with Matty Smith.
Agreed. To be as effeminate as he is in real life and then play a believable hard arse is good stuff.

Do we know why HBO only wanted 8 episodes?
Posted on 7/12/24 at 6:09 pm to blueboy
Enjoying House of the Dragon. Solid stuff. Better choice to sign up for MAX than Apple TV for Godzilla series.

How bad are they going to make Aegon look like?
