apparently there is also other series being produced based on someone called 'Nymeria'

Nymeria would be cool. She sailed from Essos with 10,000 (maybe 1,000) ships and landed in Dorne. She then burned all the ships to let her people know there was no turning back. Arya named her wolf after her.

I can appreciate the slow build. But in the meantime every character is insufferable as well. It’s one thing to have a little political theater. But nothing is that fun or even interesting. Daemon is all moody 5th year Harry Potter. The king is an oblivious weak twat. The queen is a whiny “what about me?” bitch. Even the princess who is maybe the most interesting is a self absorbed count. None of the side characters are interesting.

I think they made a mistake skipping ahead so many years in S1. A good ending point would've been Laenor and Rhaenyra's wedding. The season so far has encompassed at least 14 years and we're still getting yet another time skip. But the actual civil war is only a couple of years.

GRRM mentioned that HBO is filming a Dunk and Egg series, which based on the books should be amazing.

Just finished reading this again. Such great stories, I'd prefer to see each novella made into a full length movie.

Movie or you could maybe do a 3 episode miniseries for each.

Wish GRRM had written a few more like he said he was gonna do. Though, as with all things GRRM, he over promises and under delivers in his output.

fair
rhaenyra especially (in this new episode). and not to beat a dead horse but this "parentage" issue is yet another reason why the decision to cast black actors as the valeryons is so stupid. not only are her kids not blonde, they are pale white

It's basically the only element for which they said "let's make the casting so clear that we don't need to overexplain the issue." It's supposed to be beyond obvious to everyone. In a show that has spent so much time telling instead of showing, I appreciated no one having to say the issue out loud.

And then, because this show just can't stop holding the audience's hand, characters started saying it out loud. Just in case the dumbest viewer hadn't figured it out yet.

The first half of HotD S1 feels a lot like Preacher S1 in regards to the source material.

FYI

There are plenty of half black parents with one all white parent that come out looking and being pale white.

The entirety of Game of Thrones was only 6-7 years, and they made 7 seasons out of it. They’ve already said this show is only going to be 3-4 seasons. The timeline will slow down in the next 2-3 seasons, IMO.

Not to mention it is openly clear that this world hasn't exactly produced Gregor Mendel yet.

People don't grasp genetics and it took a DEEP dive by Jon Arryn and Ned Stark to deduce Bobby B was getting cuckolded by Jaime.

We had two of the three with us this weekend.

I promise you, if you never saw the mother(half black, half Irish but looks black), you would just think they were pale white kids.

Just pointing out, it’s not this unheard of thing you seem to think for 25% black children to just look white. Especially as babies(in all honesty, I was a bit surprised too).

But that’s pretty immaterial cause it’s not like the show has in anyway hinted there is much debate amongst the citizenry. It’s just Viserys knows the game Alicent is playing and will do whatever in his power he can, including gaslighting, to aide Rhaenyra in this matter

Dunk and Egg series

A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms-Suppose to be in production but have yet to see a release date for it.

John Snow beyond the Wall series I am not sure would do much for me unless he rallies a return to the Seven Kingdoms for his crown and even that would seem less likely.

quote:

'Nymeria'

10,000 Ships-Princess Nymeria of the Rhoyne. The Rhoynar was destroyed by the Valyrian Freehold some 1,000 years before the events of Game of Thrones, leading Nymeria to lead her people to safety and freedom. It's said that she commanded 10,000 ships to sail down the river Rhoyne and away from Essos, and while the number may have been inflated, it was clearly an incredible amount and journey nonetheless. Nymeria and her fleet travelled for years to find a new safe haven, fleeing Naath because of disease, before finally settling in Dorne.

quote:

Corlys Valryon

9 Voyages - The show will center around Corlys Velaryon, aka the Sea Snake, who is portrayed by Steve Toussaint in House of the Dragon. HBO clearly expects him to be a breakout character, developing a series built around his Great Voyages. The Sea Snake traversed the oceans farther than most dared, visiting not just the areas of Essos that Game of Thrones viewers are familiar with, but more unknown regions such as Yi-Ti, accumulating incredible wealth along the way.

Another I am not sure will be interesting is based on Flea Bottom.

Three animated series are do out as well.

The Golden Empire-is the spin-off we know the least about, but it’s also one of the most intriguing. It’s set in Yi Ti, a region on the eastern coast of Essos. Yi Ti is one of the oldest and most advanced societies in Martin’s world, though it’s somewhat mysterious, as its distance from Westeros makes it difficult to travel to or trade with.

The other two have not been named yet.

Harry and Meghan's two kids are little white chirren. It's pretty common for mixed kids to be on the pale side.

There are also tons of Targaryens with dark hair.

Jon Stark was black haired, yet most of the Stark kids had Tully features.

Genetics are plain weird in this world. Most people probably are brushing off these kids' features but people know Rhaenyra is fricking someone else anyway.

Dunk and Egg series

Ser Duncan the Tall and future king Aegon V. It's about their adventures when Egg is traveling with Ser Duncan as his squire. Since Egg was down the line for the throne he was known as Aegon the Unlikely.

Aegon V was the king that started The Tragedy of Summerhall when he started a massive fire in an attempt to hatch dragon eggs.

Idk if they should go that route before covering the 1st Blackfyre rebellion though, because Egg and Dunk helped quell the 2nd Blackfyre rebellion.

Funny that we have a lord of the rings show and a new star wars show and nobody gives a shite because house of the dragon is kicking their asses.
I’m enjoying all 3, and I was especially impressed by Andor and hopeful for what’s to come.

Lot of good material to cover, would love to see a show about the conqueror and the first few generations of targ rulers. Who wouldn’t want to see a show with Maegor the Cruel?
