More, when he saw the big dragon gone once he walked out, he should have walked back in and requested guest rights/sanctuary.
I thought the same thing. I would have went back in and said “hey bro this weather is pretty gnarly, you mind if I crash hear tonight?”
1st - Storms End looks like the most miserable place on the planet. No wonder Robert was a raging alcoholic. If I was from there I would stay drunk too.
2nd - Loved the season and really loved the cinematography in the finale. Like someone said earlier I got major Star Wars vibes when Vheagar’s silhouette was above Luc.
3rd - Aemon’s appearance lends itself to a great villain. The actor is doing well also. Only issue is he looks mid 20’s to 30 and his nephews who are roughly the same age look 14 or 15.
I wish princess R would have stabbed Otto with that had of the king pin.
I hate that motherfricker, which means the actor playing him is doing his job.
I thought the acting overall this season was great which is kind f surprising with so many young actors on the show.
The guy that played Viserys better win something. That dude was outstanding.

But she has to keep that necklace on.
Could you imagine the horror of being mid-coitus and having that necklace come off?

I keep hearing this but I can only imagine she didn’t do this for two reason because of the thing Alicent gave her and that it may alienate the other houses

We all know that kid from Jr High that was shaving daily in the 8th grade. Some teenagers just look older. Just pretend it's the 1970s where every high school kid looked mid-20s.

Storm's End is very protected from the sea.
It is also gigantic and has one of the largest libraries outside of Oldtown. It would be quite possible to ride out a storm there and not realize one is raging outside.

What, specifically, was the Doom?
Eruption of the volcanic chain that surrounded the city of Valyria. The volcanic chain was called the fourteen flames and when they blew, no more valyria. There were still other big cities that were Valyrian colonies such as volantis that survived, but they couldn’t recreate the success of the capitol.

The giant crossbows are called ballista.

Tyrion and Jorah sailed through Valyria
Nah, that was just the shows lame arse attempt at making Valyria by replacing it with the ruins of a Rhoynish city, where during his journey Tyrion is attacked by stone men, just like in the show.
quote:
Chroyane is a foggy, ruined city of Rhoynish origin that sits in the southern Sorrows at the confluence of the Lhorulu and the Rhoyne, south of the Golden Fields in Essos.
In contrast, Valyria is now in what's called the Smoking Sea.
quote:
The Smoking Sea is the place where the sea flooded into the shattered remnant of the Valyrian peninsula after the Doom of Valyria. Filled with volcanoes and smoking stacks of rock, it is said to boil in places and to be haunted by demons.
It's supposed to be so dangerous there that no one has ever returned, including Tywin's little brother and entire fleets of ships.
This is what Valyria was supposed to be like before the Doom, which probably wasn't the best idea to live in the midst of several volcanoes and rivers of lava:

Rhaena's daughter, Aerea supposedly flew Balerion back, but she died soon after returning and Balerion was significantly wounded. Too bad, the firsthand accounts of her affliction were destroyed as well as "Dragons, Wyrms, and Wyverns". They apparently made Jaehaerys ban anyone who had gone to Valyria from entering Westeros...as well as forbidding any Westerosi going.
Of note for this show,
quote:
Barth speculated that, when Aerea claimed Balerion, she was unable to bend the dragon to her will, and instead the dragon had taken her to the place he had been born, Valyria.

Didn't Euron Greyjoy in the books sail to Valeria?

He claims to have. He brings back a Dragon horn that seems to have some sort of powers so he very well might have. The show really did a terrible job adapting that character.

Nor for the next 80 Sundays if you’d rather dwell on it.

Vhagar's big arse would be easy to hit with one of Qyburn's giant crossbows. I'm really surprised no one invented one of those during this time period when dragons were wrecking shite. Maybe the Targs wouldn't be very happy if they found out someone had one
This may be a situation where the book and tv universes differ. In Fire and Blood, scorpions (what they’re called) are mentioned as early as the conquest.

Sucks having no episode to discuss this week.

Also, Dany's eggs did not come from Valyrian stock. It was said they were from Asshai.

Just doing a rewatch of Season 1 and I have a question for some of the bookreaders(paging Belle)=
How did Ser Criston Cole escape the ramifications of beating a fellow Knight to death in a crowded wedding feast? It's not like his indiscretion with Rhaenyra that could be contained by Alicent= this happened in front of everyone.
If an unprovoked beating by Ser Harwin Strong is enough to relieve him of duty in the Citywatch= how is Ser Criston still serving in the Kingsguard?
Just a question I had I could find no logical answer for. It's not important at all for my enjoyment but just wondering if the books had any greater detail or difference.
