I think it was more meant to convey a “get your shite together and asap” type of message. She’s cunning and had been readying herself for this moment for many years with the absolute truth known to her, she’d have to put all of them to sword if she ever wanted to be queen, and then falters when the time arrives. That’s what I got from it

I’m pretty sure they said the same-age bit about the Stark, not Borros. The insight Rhaenyra gave about Borros is that he was a proud man, so he would be honored to have a prince and a dragon rider under his roof.
I think she did say something along the lines of “he’s closer to your age than mine”, but that struck me more of a quip to minimize the pressure of the situation after she had just set up her other son with a meeting around his own age. But it still sounded like she set it up so that Borros was at least a decade older

I don’t remember the show giving any reason as to why which went where. Aemon went to marry his daughter but the blacks had no such intentions. So I just provided the answer in the book as to why who went where.

I agree with this. If my dad looks like a zombie, and people have been telling me my whole life my claim will be challenged, I’m spending my days keeping my allies close and probing their ambitions regarding marriages, etc.
If they only had horses I can understand losing touch when it takes a month to go anywhere but on dragon back seems like they would be making monthly or quarterly visits.
I guess at the end of the day, you don’t know what anyone is going to do until all the cards are on the table.

She said Cregan was close to Jace age, not Borros to Luke’s, she also mentioned storms end being a very short flight.
Y’all need to pay more attention.

I haven’t read the books, but there was definitely a scene where Rhaenyra told the boys what to expect when they reached their destinations.
The oldest son (I can’t follow all the names on this show haha) was told to expect a Stark about his own age. Luke was told to expect a proud man closer to his age than to his mothers.

You could definitely be right. Episode was paced so poorly I wasn’t exactly watched with bated breath

I get what you’re saying but the blacks had almost no real political power when Viserys died, outside of daemons tangential claim and Rhaenera being named heir against centuries of tradition, without changing the actual law of succession in the realm, and it was many many years ago before two kings sons were around. They essentially had fled or rather nudged to Dragonstone and were always going to be a step behind in the start.

Man that episode was epic. Both the dragons' animal instincts kicked in and there was nothing the riders could do.

May be dumb question but how would the Blacks actually even know Aemond killed him if it was just them in that scene? Don’t think anyone in Storms End (who just score to the Greens) would snitch..
Other than the conflict that immediately preceded his death?
Other than him rushing out to leave on a dragon and then having another dragon follow him?
Or, how about this: what natural causes do you see killing a fricking dragon?

3. How did they know it was Aemond that killed Luke and his dragon? There are no witnesses. Can't Aemond just go back and act like nothing happened?

for f**** sake, why is daemon choking her such a topic as if its surprising? dude literally killed his last wife with a rock and is known as a very violent/ill tempered person as demonstrated multiple times this season. he is not a good person.

a planner, I don’t understand how Raenyra and her squad are so blindsided by this. Otto and his crew have meticulously planned and prepared for this moment. How in the world could Raenyra be so blindsided? How could they not be keeping in-touch with their supporters prior to this, especially when for years there have been rumors and schemes to discredit her sons? They send a toddler on a training wheels dragon to dropoff a letter?
I think she just fully believed that the houses would remain true to their original commitment and didn’t think the entire small council would try to overthrow her.

We are talking about the same woman who marries a white haired black guy then proceeds to have THREE very white skinned black haired kids and is all like, "Wut do you mean they are bastards?"

I still don’t understand why Luke went in after seeing the dragon there. He knew his cousin was inside and he can’t compete with him.
I would have gotten back on my dragon and told everybody I was lost

Haven’t seen it mentioned yet so I’ll do it….
Daemon kinda popped off when he was serenading the dragon.

This is being overthought. Daemon likely has eyes and ears in King's Landing and in the Red Keep. Aemond probably came back and told someone and it got reported to Daemon.
Only he knew, so it wasn't like it was rumor mill/chatter stuff at that point.

She had just seen her fvcking brother in law (or whatever the Sea Snake’s brother would be) challenge her sons and call them bastards.
She’s a damn fool if she expected everyone to just blindly support her claim without challenge. Hell Raynese told her this from the very beginning.

I spent the last week binging the show and I fricking loved every second of it.
Now I’m listening to the backlog of podcasts and apparently people have been calling this show boring? Wtf?
