Yep. He should have noped right out of there. His mom wouldn’t have been mad, that’s more or less what she told him to do.

It also uses sources that you can sometimes tell the reliability of.
What you're missing is that it could've been an accident, but Aemond could go back to court and say that it was intentional. If that's the case, then it would be documented as being intentional, regardless if it was or not.

Yes. They need to know the truth about their son. All their animosity stems from them thinking their son was killed.

I liked the acting from the one eyed Targ. I thought he wanted to kill him. Until he lost control of his dragon and you could tell he really knew he fricked up.
Great tag to the first season.
I really think this show could wrap up in 2-3. Really 3 at the pace.

How did anyone know? Did people see the dragon fight? Only Aemond knows he killed the Strong kid.

I was hoping Luke would shoot back to Borros about marrying one of his daughters with something like “Yeah, I’m already betrothed, but since we’re in the hall of people who apparently don’t honor oaths, I’ll take whichever one you want to give away.”
Probably would've had everyone like "Aw shite, he's got you there, Borros."

Now I’m listening to the backlog of podcasts and apparently people have been calling this show boring? Wtf?
It's been slow as hell.

How else does a dragon die by being cut in half?

This is the first thing I have seen where this thing could actually go past just this time period.

In an interview with Collider, showrunner Ryan Condal teased the overarching story could span several hundred years, saying: “I think we have a fairly good plan laid out.”
He added: “There’s 170 years of history in front of us, so you have to figure out, at what point do you lower the curtain on this particular story? We’ve always had a good sense of that. I think we have a good plan for season two…. There is really 300 years of Targaryen history to explore, and there are many stories within there that are really fascinating.
“There’s the story of the conquest, the story before the conquest, the Targaryens leaving Old Valyria. You have a tale like this, where the Targaryens have dragons and are in power. And then, there are also stories where the Targaryens no longer have dragons, but are still in power. What changes there, and how is that different? It’s a very rich tapestry.”

I would genuinely like to see what folks consider fast if this show is considered slow as hell.

Targaryen bastards or dragonseeds as they call them. There's quite a few on dragon stone in the books.

Probably felt he needed to prove his worth to his family since he openly admitted he’s not meant for Driftmark.

I think this calls back to the beginning when she told him how she overcame her fears about ruling and had to earn her inheritance. He wants to be brave to show her and himself that he can be the Lord of Driftmark one day. He also doesn't want his mother's cause to look weak by backing down without delivering the message.

Something I really liked about this episode was the dragon independence. Prior to, we were pretty much led to believe once the dragons had a rider they pretty much were just programmed to do their bidding. Now you see how much of a relationship you’ve got to have to really control it.
The Laena and Vhagar scene where she seems very reluctant to “Dracarys” Laena would probably hit different if I rewatched that. Rhaenys’ absolute control of Meleys is very impressive too.
Man I’m pumped for S2.
Who is gonna ride Vermithor?? When is Laenor gonna Koolaid man back in on Seasmoke and save the day?! Oh yeh!!!

We saw glimpses of it in ASOIAF/GOT.
Drogon had brief moments where he did not obey Danaerys.
Arrax and Lucerys relationship was still developing, and was more noticeable because Arrax was a really young dragon.
I think he could sense his rider's fear in that moment, which is why he went back and attacked Vhagar - then of course Vhagar lost her shite.

Viserys mentioned to Rhaenyra that the control over the dragons was all an illusion and that’s starting to become apparent for at least some riders

For me, that dragon chase was one of the most tense moments in the series. Seeing the size difference in those dragons took me back to seeing Star Wars in the theater for the first time, and that opening shot of the bottom of the Imperial Cruiser moving onto and taking over the screen, slowly revealing the size difference between the ships.
