One quick question: did they confirm that the husband and son of the blonde woman were killed in the raid? I remember the daughter not finding their bodies but wasn’t sure if we’re the assume they’re dead. It seems like if they were alive they would have came back for them in that crawl space

She confirmed the bodies. One of the first she looked at was her father and the last was her brother. They buried them shortly after.

Random fact, but her brother is Costner’s son in real life.

She recognized her father by his boots and the brother was the last one she looked at. The next scene they are buried by the two soldiers. The mother has a moment where she is with the bodies and says goodbye.

7.2 on IMDB (which is exceptionally high)

40% on RT (which is basically a box office bomb score).

Haven't seen the movie.

Curious as to the real reasons for the disparity for those that have seen it.

Just saw it and really liked it. Felt like I binged watch a whole season of a new series. A lot going on for sure. Though the ending suggest everyone ends up in the same place.

Watching credits I noticed Francis and her daughter have the same last name of a family on the new wagon train.

Watching Once Upon A Time in The West right now

Probably been 30+ years since I’ve seen it

Lonesome Dove will be after this

Time to enjoy westerns again

My uncle saw it last night. He said it was hard to follow at times. Had some some really good scenes but overall it was a letdown.

Can’t say for myself, but my brother and his wife went to see Horizon. They left about half way through. Said it was extremely boring and disjointed. And we are of an age to love good westerns, meaning old. So I’ll take his advice and maybe try it on streaming some day.

I generally like westerns, this one was meh at best. I get it's supposed to be a series, but story was all over the place.

Considering it is only up to 16M or so, better hope that 100M budget was for both movies. Because he is taking only a big loss if that is true. Otherwise if it was 100M just for part one, will be a massive bomb. Probably going to lose the majority of screens next week and be on streaming before too long

Guessing the rest of the movies will be sold off to streaming and made for a much more reasonable budget

I hope streaming and disc sales allow him to complete all four movies. I thought it was a fine start to a four part saga and would love to see it all.

If they’re smart, they’ll rush this to streaming to get more eyes on it before the next one hits theatres.

I found myself bored too.
I liked parts of it but it jumped around to much and made it harder to follow.

Interested if you followed through and what you thought? I debating going to theater or waiting for it to come out.

What everyone says. Sounds like he should have done a mini-series so he could spend time on all of the different characters they introduced in the 1st movie..

Wife and I saw it tonight.

I echo everyone's sentiment of it being all over the place. It was good, just disjointed.

Did it seem like there were time jumps to anyone else?
