Usually they do a great job of making fun of dumb decisions characters make, but this time the series goes into how the movie should have gone. And I really want to see this version of the movie. Very humorous less than 8 min youtube video that I knew this board would love to see:

It doesn't really make sense to make her a Kenobi. Kenobi was pretty straight and narrow. IDK when he would have settled down and had a family.

Qui-Gon Jinn was more likely to go outside the Jedi order and do something like this. If we are going with an established name for heritage...I would go with him.

Before he took Anakin as an apprentice, he was in a relationship with Satine Kryze. Had she hid a child from him and the Jedi, it would make sense that child could be the parent of Rey.

This is why we don't let the fans make the films.

Because then they might make sense with established canon and be enjoyable to watch?

No, it isn't. The Last Jedi that fans would have made would have been generic. This HISHE is a great example of that.

No, because fans don't know how to tell a story. That's why almost every fan film is terrible and none of them make $2B.

Wasn't it your proposal to make the movie board great again by getting rid of people (presumably banning people or removing posts?) that come into a thread only to be negative about something that other people enjoy?

Or was this (quoted below) just a suggestion to make the administrators play board defender for any contrarian or minority opinion? Or just to defend TLJ because that movie is special to you (or criticism of it is particularly offensive to you)?

Even more effective, start a thread that has something positive to say about TLJ. You can't say anything negative or positive about movies that are consensus around here without kicking off an intense amount of whining. You want better discussion? Police that bull shite.

I either don't understand your position or just don't understand how a reasonable person could think it was either a good or usable proposal.

If it was just intended to apply to TLJ then that's weird. That movie has plenty of proponents and message boards devoted to extolling its virtues. The fact that large numbers of the regular fans of the franchise hated it doesn't stop those people from voicing a different opinion.

Possibly, but you can be faithful to the source material and still be different without fricking up so god damned much of everything else!

Displaced Buckeye is simply a contrarian on what the consensus is. If we all started loving TLJ tomorrow, he’d begin hating it. He’s a poster with no moral principles.

Maybe on Tatooine. He may not have started out as a hermit, but after his wife left him...

TLJ won't make $2B. It's about $675M shy.
