-Terrible side plot
-Using hyperspace travel as a weapon
-Rose
-Rey being too powerful
-Ill-placed bad comedy
I can think of more if you want.
There are things about this movie that sucked that don't revolve around your "fanboys don't like it because Luke didn't do exactly what they wanted him to" argument.

-Terrible side plot
It was terribly executed and too long.

Why do you see this as a negative? The only reason I didn't like it is because of who they chose to make the sacrifice.

She made some pretty terrible choices, but at least some of that was intentional. Either way, I'd have her hung for treason when I landed.

-Rey being too powerful
I disagree.

Be more specific.

Those are all opinions. You have nothing objective to offer. You didn't like it. That's fine. I did. That should also be fine.
There are certainly things to dislike about it, but it was a good film regardless.

Agree to disagree.

Always an acceptable outcome.

just curious; and this isn't a right/wrong question.
OT turned into "Luke redeems Anakin and brings about the fall of Palpatine and the Empire".
Prequels were "Palpatine corrupts Anakin and they overthrow the Republic, and form the Empire".
Anyone feel like they have a handle on this trilogy yet? I really haven't decided whether Ben/Kylo is heading towards a good, or a bad conclusion. And regarding "Republic/Empire" stuff, I honestly don't think the politics matter very much in this. I get that the Resistance opposes the First Order, but I don't get what they are "for". What would they do if they win?

I will never understand why Johnson didn't have Akbar doing this, and at the last second you pan to a First Order Officer yelling "It's a trap!"
Great send off for Akbar, a nod to the fans, and funny all in one.
Audiences would have lost their minds.

Yep, exactly where I was going with that comment.
