dont want. Other than some changes from the later books due to length, the movies did just fine in adapting the books.

Nah, I’m good. The books and the movies were more than enough for me.

I am pretty sure everything HP needs to be approved by her.

As well as A Song of Ice and Fire

It's been a tough few years for me. I've been drinking alot more.

HBO made none of that.

HBO will do it right.

Are they really going to use the same music from the movies? I admit it would be near impossible to beat, but you have to try

Hopefully.

They're probably the only one left without a track record of fricking huge properties up, unless I'm forgetting something

The current societal/politcal climate putting pressure on the show is the thing to worry about

Great. Another franchise that will be worked to death like an old mule.

To their credit, HBO does a good job with their adaptations. I haven't seen it yet but I'm reliably informed that The Last of Us is excellent. House of the Dragon was a good return to form after the last season or two of Game of Thrones left such a piss poor taste in everyone's mouth.

Have they said what the angle will be?

Seems like the events leading up the books have been well-covered.

Doing Harry as an adult seems like a completely unnecessary money grab in the form of sequels that nobody is asking for. In my mind, Harry was and will always be a kid/teenager. That's a huge cornerstone of the entire HP saga.

The only angle I could see being very intriguing (if done well) would be to follow the Order of the Phoenix and what they were doing concurrent to the books, with Harry as a peripheral character. There was a lot going on "off screen" with those characters and it would be a great way to expand on the story while not risking watering down or ruining the original story.

Yeah, they're going to re-adapt the original novels for television. Season one will be Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, season two will be Chamber of Secrets, and so on until Deathly Hallows.

Oh....

Is that something people are actually asking for?

Its the books.

Most fans of the books aren't super happy with a lot of the stuff that got left out of the movies. There has been talk and hope of this for years.

I look forward to it. I think they can do books 4-7 a lot more justice than the movies.

Also, yeah, JK Rowling is directly involved, so Harry won't be Trans...

...But Hermione will almost certainly be black as Rowling has commented on this before and Hermione was black in every state production of the Cursed Child.

It’s going to be extended versions of the movies with new actors. Same story.
