Hate Group Threatens to Sabotage Solo and Infinity War Reviews

The self-proclaimed Alt-Right group Down With Disney's Treatment of Franchises and its Fanboys is back after having their account taken down for planning to sabotage the reviews of Black Panther back in February. However, the group has returned and promises to bring down the review scores of Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story. The group was pretty successful in their sabotage of The Last Jedi in December of 2017, but their attempts weren't as successful with their crybaby Black Panther campaign.

At the height of the Down With Disney's Treatment of Franchises and its Fanboys group on Facebook, they had over 5,000 members who believe the liberal media is behind the bad reviews that the DCEU receives and the alleged glowing reviews that Disney films receive. The anonymous leader of the group believes that it's time to rise again and take down the review scores of Solo and Infinity War, noting that the liberal media has conditioned the country into blindly taking what Disney gives out. It should be noted that the page has nowhere near the followers that it had back in February.

Uh, I am almost 100% confident that wasn't the highest number of people that hated TLJ.

Wow they’re pretty powerful. I bet the southern poverty law center is on the case.

Hate group? Isn't that a little strong? I think their goals are a bit misguided and misinformed, but HATE group? They aren't Nazis.

Do you really pay attention to someone else's opinion of a movie?

That and the fact that they are mediocre at best

That’s because Black Panther didn’t suck balls and TLJ did.

This doesn't seem like a coherent argument. Unless they lost massive numbers of trolls in the few months between the release of TLJ and BP why would an effort in one case be massively successful in one case but a complete failure in the other?
This "hate group" just can't be a meaningful difference when they hate both movies, both movies are released nearly the same time, and both movies are seen by millions of people. A group of five thousand would have to be about equally effective in both cases but the RT ranking of the two movies is about 50 percentage points different.
The primary difference seems pretty clear IMO. BP drew new people to the movies who often don't watch Marvel movies. They rated the movie very highly when they reviewed the movie and likely many more of them were motivated to rate the movie on social media than usually participate on those forums.
TLJ enraged large numbers of people who had been core fans of the earlier trilogies (most especially the older fans who were fans of Eps 4-6). Large numbers of them rated the movie very poorly and I suspect many more were motivated to rate the movie on social media than usually participate on sites like RT.

That is bad journalism.
The "hate group" didn't bring down the scores. The Star Wars fans did. . .
The proof of their inability to affect the score is EVIDENCED by the fact they could not lower BP
ETA: All they are trying to do here, is have the foundation for their excuse when the properties get shitty reviews. They threw Avengers in there, even though it will be immune. They are more concerned with how shitty the reviews for Solo are going to be. . .
If Solo reviews badly, after the abortion of TLJ, it may spell the end (or maybe the SEVERE diminishment) of the Star Wars property.

Whelp, the spin machine is in full working order.

This sounds like the plot of a South Park episode.

That shortest didn’t need a hate group to give it bad reviews. It earned them on merit.

I question whether or not this "hate group" even exists.

We are in a hyperbole world where if you publically step out of progressive March, it is literally Hitler.

TLJ is the Hiliary Clinton of movies. Still coming up with excuses for why it sucked and won't shut up about it.

quote:No it won’t. After the last “flashy” Solo trailer, and the common responses of “I hated TLJ but I’m all in for this movie”, I’ve realized that Star Wars fans will pay to see something labeled “Star Wars” no matter how bad the previous movies or how bad the reports about the current movie are.
If Solo reviews badly, after the abortion of TLJ, it may spell the end (or maybe the SEVERE diminishment) of the Star Wars property.
These movies will continue to make money because people can’t say no and hold them accountable.
And as for the OP, that group doesn’t exist in any real form. It is an attempt to get ahead of any terrible press for Solo.

Nowadays hating a movie is the equivalent of gassing people. Genocide is the same as hating Last Jedi. People are dumb.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but why is Marvel being included? Disney has kept their hands off them. This seems more like the left trying to blame the right for their narrative not working.
