Disney flashed billions and they abandoned ship, screw them.
Disney flashed billions well after we knew they were wrapping it up with 2 seasons with fewer episodes. In fact, they flashed billions after season 7 was already done and season 8 was well into filming. This seems like pure revisionism.

In a cosmic sense? I just can’t see how any human could take their time more than GRRM.

It's not revisionism. If I'm wrong on the timeline I'm wrong. I don't need to make a case against them, they really screwed the pooch. RR didn't leave the cup on the table but guess he deserves blame too.

shite, just how bad is that trilogy going to be? Awful.

So basically he says the ending will be similar but because many characters from the books died early on in the show or just don't exist in the show it will still be different in a way.

Not hard to get what he's saying

Honestly I dont Agree with people who think he’ll make more money in 2 years than he would while the show was at its peak

He isn’t done.

He will never finish book 7.

He has no idea where he is going.

Had the books been done - we get maybe 2 more seasons imo - too much material.

Pretty much. I'd think season would be left rather unchanged. Season 7 would probably deal mostly with Dany versus Cersei while Jon gathers forces in the north also it'd be 10 episodes. Season 8 would deal mostly with the Great War and the tail end of it being Dany taking KL in similar fashion. Season 9 would prop Dany up as the villain and final couple episodes would be an epilogue

The best thing for him to do now is end book 6 where the HBO show ended and continue on from there with brand new content in book 7 like conflicts in Bran The Broken's kingdom, John Snow's adventures in the north, as well as Aria discovering a new world to the west.

More smoke indicating this mofo has the books essentially done and is going back to edit out the stuff people didn't like in the show.

This dickbag is going to end up in the fantasy pantheon next to the Tolkien’s of the world when all is said and done after writing himself into a corner and letting a TV show be the test run for how to get out.

It’s disgusting for a fan of the fantasy genre.

The ending isn't the issue..

Edt: I'm also not a character lover in stories. I get engaged with the world I'm brought into, not the characters.

The only way Martin could slow down more is if he starts erasing pages he's already written.

He's going to compare to Tolkien bc he wrote himself in a corner?

I hope that he allows other writers to do spin off tales in his universe a la the now Legends Series for Star Wars. I don’t care if it’s canon or not, but I’d read books based on Arya’s journeys, what happens over in Essos, what Aegon and Tormund get into up in the True North, how Gendry handles being a Lord and such.

There’s a massive audience for that and he’d be a fool not to tap into that. Hell I don’t care if he announces that it’s not canon, I’d read it anyways. I love these characters and a good story is a good story.

yea X2.5

As long as he is taking thes books better be 3k pages each. I want to know the color of the sky and what Brann ate for breakfast every fricking day of Winter.

There'd better be at least one gratuitous sex scene somewhere as well.
