Also, I think Martin extended another clarification tonight from the books, this one about Theon's...alterations. Lots of readers missed the penectomy- there were lots of heated debates about it back then

I think I missed this both times I've read the books. I think that scene was a good way to show the viewers how Theon is already becoming Reek...the great horn dog is turning down sex b/c of the mental and physical torture of the Bastard. Very telling, IMO.

Hodor (brain is functioning today...ha) was awesome again. Perfect inflection. He really makes the most out of his one line per show.

I'm pretty convinced now that Talisa is a Lannister puppet w/ the letter. I don't like the whole pregnant change though. Seems just unnecessary. And...umm...RICHARD MADDEN'S arse. Yes and thank you. Can't wait for him to be Prince Charming!

Crap...somehow hit enter too soon

Twyin is awesome. The face that Joff made when he came up the stairs...just so subtle of a face and shift in demeanor...just awesome acting from those two.

I think the introduction of the Yunkai slaver was a bit drawn out. They could have shown the power and intimidation of Dany's forces a bit quicker. It's so frustrating that the show makes me like her but I don't like her in the books. I'm torn!

I wanted Jaime to throw Locke in the bear pit so bad...oh well. When will Jaime get his golden hand? I thought we would get to see it this season. Maybe the last episode. Locke told him to go buy one and shove it up his arse...nice touch of foreshadowing

* Some of the commenters have been suspicious of Talisa in the past, but tonight's post-coital scene with Robb — centered around the news that she's pregnant with his child — is the first time I've begun to wonder if she might be spying on him. Something about the staging of the scene and Oona Chaplin's performance seemed off, and intentionally so.

Well it appears Sepinwall, and other non-reader reviewers are very suspicious of Talisa. And have foreboding about the wedding. My gf has thought she was a spy from the get go, and last night I think she somewhat figured out the RW. She asked me why Roose would go to the Wedding and said that she didn't think good things were gonna happen and she didn't trust him, especially since he isn't taking Jaimie back to Rob.

This is the biggest clue of where his loyalties really are.

Brienne and Jamie would be headed to Riverrun if he was still loyal to Robb Stark. That and his son never would have sacked Winterfell....

Lol! I loved how when Tywin left he said "Your Grace" and when turned around you could see a big smile on his face like he was trying to refrain from laughing at his dumbass grandson.

I saw your sig that belle made...awesome

I looked up a couple of interviews last night of Richard Madden and it deepened my crush on him. I'm scared to look up any of Kit b/c I may actually leave my bf and move to England and become a full time stalker....

I thank bluegrassbelle for her hard work. I love it!

Richard Madden has a very sexy Scottish accent...I hope he uses it in Cinderella but I have a feeling he'll resort to his Robb Stark accent.

Anyone else thinking that them showing Mel and Gendry outside kings landing that Joefrey will die a different death than in the books. I am thinking shadow baby instead of poison. Would definitely make for a more entertaining scene.

They have to make his death look like Tyrion's doing. A shadow baby would certainly point away from Tyrion

why would Gendry die tonight?

It was pure speculation on my part.

Based on a GRRM interview -

quote:

I've (GRRM) noticed that, as boodthristy as I am, David and Dan are killing some characters who are still alive in the books.

Gendry could be one of those. I'm highly suspicious of his character arc in the show.

From the Hodor thread:
quote:

Robb Stark pretty much drags whatever scene he is in along grudgingly.

Not only is his story getting boring (hopefully it picks up when he gets to the Twins), but the actor is pretty shitty IMO.

As much as I wanted to see them do something with Gendry in the book, I think in reality he might have just been fodder for GRRM's "sometimes bad things happen to good people" message.

If he does get done in on the show, it's still more use of him than the limbo he ended up in in the books.

The one thing that has me wondering is what the heck was going on with him in the previews? It didn't look like they were getting ready to burn him (though it was a brief snippet so maybe it was this). And it sure didn't look like Melissndre was doing any traditional seduction of him.

What are they going to do with the Blackfish? It looks like he is headed to the RW with Robb.
