Suppose Apollonia is not killed.

How does that change Michaels trajectory?

Both his bitches were annoying

He was lucky Apollonia got blowed up. He should've forgotten about Kay (not even all that hot) and quit while he was ahead

Apollonia was ride or die, Michael has several male heirs and is satisfied with his family life. Godfather III would potentially be a whole lot better with her than Kay.

I don't know if I'm in the minority or not but I always thought Diane Keaton was by far the worst thing about the whole franchise. Her acting in the Part 2 "I had an abortion" scene is just cringe to me

Worst part of an otherwise fantastic movie. It still annoys me to this day - and I haven't watched GF 2 in probably 20 years. The only thing I can compare it to is the incest scene in GF3 - good lord that was awful.

If the car didn't blow up on her, it would've probably blown up on Michael

Kay is supposed to be unlikeable. Diane Keaton did her job.

The marriage of Michael to Keeton wasn't believable.

Kay had WASP-y pretensions about being morally superior to Sicilians and the Mob.

Michael understood that the "legitimate" world was full of people like Senator Geary. That's why he said "Who's being naive, Kay?"

If they hadn't set the bomb at all, Vito Corleone eventually dies and Barzini takes over as top dog. When they bombed his car and killed Apollonia, they created a monster who eventually killed them all.

Prince would’ve spent less time with Vanity? Am I the only one?

Yeah, she seemed to be "phoning it in" in actor's speak.

It was almost like she didn't even want to do that scene the way she delivered the dialogue so forced and deadpan.

If they needed a female actor that bad, they could have gotten the gal that played "Billy Jack"s" wife in all those stupid hop & chop movies.

I assume that we are supposing that he also doesn’t die. I think he eventually returns to America with her and is much happier. She also learns the correct order for the days of the week.

I thought Keaton did a great job taking that slap like a champ...

Apollonia living would mean good Sicilian family. Traditional. A woman who would be more like Mike's mom was with the Don. Mom stayed out of the business. (Except for asking favors for old ladies in the neighborhood)

It went thru my mind first. I was thinking Michael Jackson must have been dating her before he met Lisa Marie. Was wondering if changing Michaels trajectory meant he wouldn't be messing with little boys, or having to take so many drugs to get thru life. Maybe both.

We talking bout...

I always thought Apolonia would get fat when she got into her 40's. Like Michael's mother.

His relationship with his siblings still would have fallen apart. Fredo still feels disrespected and like he was passed over. He still killed the father of Connie's children, even if he deserved it. But he would have had a probably loyal and traditional wife.

Only the relationship with Fredo fell apart, Tom wasn't a wartime consigliere and Sonny still gets killed.

I agree, this still happens.

He had it coming.

Which could make the 2nd movie better and a far better 3rd film.
