I didn’t even know this was a movie until this board kept posting about its reception.

Like I posted in the other thread, on Hulu and Youtube TV at least, they ran these commercials non-stop over the last week. It's the only reason I posted in these threads. I couldn't escape the damn commercials for it, during primetime viewing too.

I post this all the time, but here goes:

if you think you have a really good idea for posting something you read on the internet, understand it was posted already on TD - sometimes before it hits the mainstream internet (the last part is a joke - but doesn't it kind of seem that way sometimes).

They spent $40M to advertise this movie. Anyone that says they never saw a single commercial either doesnt have internet or is lying. I dont have the platforms you mentioned and I saw the commercial a few times.

If all the LQBTGURBDR+×÷ people showed up it would have out grossed Maverick. According to market research of new shows abd commercials 33% of the country fits that bill.

So he is pointing the blame at the wrong place. Or maybe it just suxks balls(figuratively). I have no clue i haven't even seen a commercial for it yet.

It was constant bombardment during football. Who knew football fans would not want to see a movie where dudes constantly talk about fricking each other and sucking dick

Going by this board it's the most important film since Top Gun 2. Buckle up, we'll be doing this through the Fall.

Agree. But you have to admit a film that was so pushed only made $4M over 3500 theaters is kind of funny.

I heard a podcast that broke it down where only 70 tickets per theater were sold for the entire weekend. Thats like 6 people per movie.

I also just heard on the radio that they put $30mm into marketing. Which makes the break even $50mm

Again, I don’t want movies to fail, until you call me an a-hole for not liking your movie.

If Hollywood stops making movies like this then THEY are the Bigots.

They just need to be persistent and keep spending hundreds of millions of dollars making and promoting Gay RomComs!

PS I'm sure that the US FedGov will provide Bail-Out money for any future losses incurred by intrepid Hollywood producers who persist in these important motion picture activities.

So, nobody that's straight is going to go see this crap. So therefore they were depending on 2% of the population to make this successful?

Bold move.

Blaming straight people for having different sexual preferences doesn't seem very tolerant
