You’re right much smaller blade similar handle.

Giant broadswords are heavy as frick. It might be closer to 30 or more.

Yup. One of main reason Romans usually kicked barbarian arse

Sorry your Khaleesi is going mad queen. As we said was obvious weeks ago.
She didn't. Viserys sold her off to Drogo so he could get Dothraki warriors on his side. At that point she was just an exotic frick-toy for Drogo.
She a) toughened up living as a Dothraki instead of a pampered rich princess, and b) used that sex to flip Drogo to her side.
And then he died, and she was left in the fricking desert with something like 30 followers. Instead of dying, she drove through that desert and came out in Qarth, survived a plot to abduct her and steal her dragons by acting as a Dothraki- she burned the wizard, killed her betrayers and ransacked what they could afterwards.
She then played the slavers and took the Unsullied and again- burned her enemy and took what she wanted.
She then flipped the Second Sons and took Meereen, and unleashed the slaves in a revolution.
Tried to be nice, that backfired. Got snatched up by the Dothraki again, but then gambled with fire and won, and scored that entire scattered nation. Came back to Meereen and unleashed the dragons.
She hasn't been weak, or pampered, or anything like that. She's learned to survive and advance by both force and cunning, and also by playing the savior to the masses.
Viserys wouldn't have gotten anywhere near as far as she has, and had she not tried to hold back on Tyrion's advice she'd be queen right now. And Winterfell would likely still be standing intact, with a big mess of zombies pressing at the Wall vainly. Jon would have flooded the tunnels (hopefully), which would have turned to ice permanently.

I’m a bit behind and just watched the battle episode 3 tonight.
Holy shite that was intense. To everyone saying this season sucks, you suck. That episode was everything it should’ve been.

The entire sword was taller than an adolescent Robb Stark at the beginning of the books and the blade was as wide as a man’s hand. Even though Valaryian steel is supposed to be lighter than regular steel, that sword would still be way too heavy to effectively wield in combat.

What I like is how different she and Jon are when it comes to their accomplishments. She has no problem of spouting off about them and her titles while Jon was just okay being quiet about his.

Arya's first target should be Cersei's most valuable asset, Maester. He's the one who created the Mountain Zombie and manufactures the Wildfire. Without the Maester Cersei is just an angry bitch.

I don't know if it's been discussed as I just watched last night and do not feel like sifting through this entire thread but..
When Dany brought her army of 5 Unsullied and 1 dragon to demand Cersei's surrender, why the hell didn't Cersei just order all the archers and ballistas to wipe them out and end the last dragon? They had more fricking ballista gunners than unsullied soldiers. The entire war could have been over then and there. That doesn't seem like the "honorable" thing to do, but when the hell has Cersei ever been honorable? Such a stupid scene.
Also, how in the hell did they come up with the conclusion that Missandei was captured? Our ships were destroyed and we all had to swim to shore, but there's no way Missandei drowned or was killed, they definitely had to have captured her.
AND, why in the everliving frick did Jon just randomly give Ghost away? That entire exchange made no sense. It's obvious they were tired of using CGI to give him a role in the script, but my goodness. They would have been better off just never showing him at all this season and giving no explanation to his whereabouts. That was pathetic.
It's abundantly clear with this last episode that they had no clue what to do after defeating the night king and just decided to throw a bunch of shite together with a little bit of shock value. It would have been so much easier to have the nk stick around until the last or second to last episode and have him kill off anyone you didn't feel like resolving.

First time posting since the episode aired. Stupid work taking me away from tigerdroppings.
This is the first episode of the season that it kind of frustrated me and I lean to the not liking it side rather than enjoying it.
Euron has just become too ridiculous. Im tired of this dude sneaking up on people with his fleet. His stealth is stupid writing but the worst part is the pinpoint accuracy of him with scorpion. I mean he is on a moving ship shooting at a moving target and he just lays a perfect kill shot on the first shot. Dont give me that crap. I could make a big deal about how even the bolts shouldnt so easily penetrate a dragon like that but theyve built that up for a while now so it was clear it was going to be able to take one down.
Second biggest gripe, and im sure both of these have been touched on at length, but Jon leaving and not so much as even petting Ghost was horrible. I've defended D&D, but that was just lazy and goes against every thing they have built up for 7 seasons. I mean they were ridiculously close and had a strong bond. Ghost is sitting there wimpering and he cant even go up to pant him and tell him goodbye. Get out of here with that crap.

all of your questions are valid. the entire episode is full of just terrible writing putting characters in dumb situations. none of it makes any sense other than just forcing things along to get to some end point. frustrating doesn't begin to describe it

Ghost is clearly just budget restraints.
The cost of him interacting with live actors vs him kinda just being dropped in .
They have 15 million an episode which is a lot but that includes what I can Only imagine is insane cast salary, the dragon CGI and al the other things.
They total budget is 90 million to make over 8 hours of TV vs the budget for most heavy CGI movies being over 100k and they only need 2 hours.

Nah man. Swords do not weigh that much. That is a myth if you heard that. Even the biggest zweihänders were only around 10 pounds. And if they were that big they were probably just for show ("parade sword")

All good questions, however, someone could have easily witnessed Missandei getting snatched up from the water. They could have had someone stating that they saw her getting snatched up just to clear up any confusion i suppose, but ultimately I have no problem with it.

Then they should have cut out 15 seconds of CGI somewhere else. It could have been a quick scene. Instead they leave it to where Jon doesnt even care about him. The wolf was wounded and whimpering, he has been with you for years, and he has saved your life, and you dont even go and pet him. The writers should have put in room for it. That wouldnt have been hard to do to save some money for that scene.

I've done my re-watch now, and I dont get the bad lighting complaint. I watched it with the lights on this time and it was perfectly fine.
Half of the time the place was on fire so theres going to me a ton of smoke, ash, and dirt flying up everwhere, I thought they did a good job and was more accurate than having it bright and crystal clear on every scene.
