I think the Mad Queen theory became plausible once Dany started to show some insecurities. I immediately thought about it once it was confirmed that Jon is a Targaryan.

Another reason I think Sansa ends up on the Iron Throne: The prophecy to Cersei.

She thought it would be Margaery Tyrell. We thought Dany. Unless Jon goes full Caitlyn Jenner, I don’t see any other sane queens around.

I am still in shock at them just smoking that dragon and moving on like nothing happened in a span of three minutes.

Also, looks pretty clear some unknown dragon or army of 1000 dragons comes out nowhere next week.
What was even the point of the 7 seasons before this

I know I'm in the major minority as a book reader but I've actually enjoyed the past 2 seasons. Certain small things piss me off like Drogon being within distance and nobody taking a shot but it doesn't kill the show for me. Now I didn't read the books 2 or 3 times and get super into them but I read them once and liked them.

oh I've enjoyed them immensely
I separated the books and the show back in S2
like you said, there are some pretty major flaws in the show, but its still appointment TV for me and I'm thoroughly entertained during each episode

I'm not sure why Dany would being doing anything but nighttime dragon raids on the wall defenses of King's Landing and Euron's fleet until she can at least take out most of those big guns.

Maybe, but I also think people are overthinking that shot.
I'd put my money on it being Dany on Drogon. There's no reason to think (other than Dany's terrible skill as a battle tactician
) that she couldn't get the drop on Euron from above when he's distracted with something else. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if they have this scene where it looks like Euron chased Dany and Drogon away like this week but this time Dany didn't actually run away but set Euron up for his own ambush. Or something to that effect.
