What burned me up was the naval ambush. It's already happened twice. Even an incompetent Commander would be looking for one.

I hated the Long Night and I thought last night was a lot better. Yeah the naval ambush was dumb but no one has shown themselves to be a great strategist.

the most underrated bad part about last night was all the wasted time on the goodbyes
we wasted basically 2 episodes with "hey remember this character? he/she is going to die so say goodbye!"
then....none of them die. eve worthless ones like Gilly
so, what do we have in episode 4? 30 minutes of goodbyes....again...but they mean it for real this time!

To be fair this is how The Lord of the Rings ends (the books at least). Martin has warned us there would be something similar to the Scouring of the Shire.

the problem is D/D's budgetary choices and the different mediums
even Peter Jackson left it out of the movies b/c it was a different medium and didn't work as well
D/D face that as well as a severely under-developed story due to their choices to condense the seasons

I’m am starting to think freaking Sansa takes the throne.
1. Jon returns to the North. They made it obvious with ALL his buddies and Sam going up there. So that takes him out.
2. Dany is obviously dead. She is going mad queen.
3. The Jamie/Cersei feud is self contained
4. Arya has served her purpose and will finish out her story with the Hound/Mountain
5. Tyrion ends up being the Hand or with someone ruling.
So who’s left? Sansa
