It wont be as rushed if half the cast dies in the next 2 episodes. Wont be nearly as many loose ends to tie up. Let it play out before you assume this season is rushed. We've seen 1/16th of this season.

Yeah, I won’t shite on this either. It makes sense that it would only take two episodes for the White Walkers to make it to Winterfell since they don’t need to rest and we saw that done in the first season.

I think Jamie will be just about to pay for his past crimes when the NK attacks. And then he will sacrifice himself for a stark or end up killing Cersei or euron.

Have we talked about what exactly the Night King wants? Is his goal just to kill everyone? If so, why? If not, what is it he really wants?

I posted a theory I don't even believe, just throwing darts at the wall for twists-

Bran is compromised by the Night King by being touched. NK drove him through the Wall, breaking the seal on the Wall and allowing him to come through too.
NK sees whatever Bran does, so he knows what Bran does, and he controls a lot of the emotion, so he influences how Bran reacts. Thus, he's eyes inside Winterfell and is stirring shite up.

NK was an ultimate weapon of the Children, meant to drive out the First Men.

We've only seen a couple Children with 3ER, and 3ER stayed beyond the Wall too. Always said he was readying for the war, but we always just assume he's on the side of men.

Goal is to remove Men from Westeros. 3ER is just another side of the Old Gods opposing Men, they would tolerate Starks (who still worship them) but no one else (who worship other gods). They have better strategic control of the NK now.
3ER and NK brought Bran through as the conduit.
NK allowed Bran back to open the door.

NK used Benjen to help gain trust, and to push Bran and Jon back through the Wall. Jon has to be there, because he can be used to disrupt the unity and resolve of Men (which is exactly what Bran is now doing). All this drama and political intrigue is what's being used as an indictment of Men, why they are bad and have to go.

NK's playing with fire, because Jon can be a wedge, but can also serve to unite- something Bran (and NK) have been neglecting.

Most likely complete BS, but it's a thought.

The problem with big theories like that is that they’re just out of time. That can’t be done and explained and everything else wrapped up in the time we have left.

The only 4 characters I care about are Arya, the Hound, Tyrion, and Jamie.

Everyone else on the show can fall off a cliff for all I care (I’m looking at you Sansa)

And since I am thinking about Sansa, Arya would never say “Sansa is the smartest person I know”

Arya has considered her an idiot for years and rightfully so...because Sansa’s stupid...fawning after Jeoffry, putting her family in a bad situation in the first place by whining until she could be “queen” ultimately leading to the starks almost being completely wiped out.

Well...thanks for that “smartest person we’re supposed to know”

I'm hoping they're kinda building her up just so she can die. Either that or please bring something to the table to warrant all this.

I do wonder if it makes any mention of the Glovers. Like maybe Winterfell gets more time to prepare as the WWs head to Deepwood Motte or other places before they get to Winterfell.

If NK and Wight Walkers overrun Winterfell and take it over does it then become Winterhell as HotPie foretold?

It is not completely out of the possibility to think that Sansa has grown and matured and through her terrible experiences gained knowledge; including from Littefinger. When she was fawning over Joffrey she around 12 years old; she was a child.

some kind of way there must be a solution which "de-aminates" the army of the dead

The solution was in S7. Killed the white walker that raised them and all his wights die

Sure...but how would Arya know that?

It's obvious they've had some conversation we weren't privy to.

They put together Littlefinger's whole trial fake-out.

Well...we’re kinda the audience here. So I don’t know why you’re questioning the audience for asking questions we were never shown answers to.

It’s the job of the story tellers to be consistent and clear and nothing shown us by Arya and Sansa’s relationship leads us to believe Arya respects her intelligence as the greatest she knows. In fact, we’ve been shown the opposite.

“Not privy to” is a terrible defense. You might as well say no details matter as we could not be privy to whatever you want to imagine.

I'm not even sure he's needed anymore. I mean, if Bran can see all and prove it then why do they really need Howland to confirm anything?

I agree. I don't see them introducing a new character with 5 episodes left just to confirm that. And if they did, why not just have Howland tell Jon instead of Sam?

I just always thought smart would have included clueing Jon into the fact that the Vale reenforcements were around the corner.

Because she’s a moron you almost got Jon Tormund and others killed and you lost your only Giant who’s probably now a wight.

Yeah. Smartest person you know.

Well to be fair Arya does know a lot of dumb people. I mean it’s like which one is the brownest turd?
