So what do y'all think will happen once Cersei's trial is over? Even if she wins, I still feel like she's going to be in deep shite and that Robert Strong being unmasked would do her in and wouldn't sit well with the High Sparrow at all. I could see her still being locked up when Faegon comes into King's Landing. IMO Cersei is dead by the end of TWoW...not much left to happen with her storyline. Jaime is still in the Riverlands so I don't know how he'd be able to go down to King's Landing and kill her within 1 book but anything is possible. Perhaps Stoneheart will let him and Brienne go on the condition that he kills Cersei?? Not sure why she'd do that though because she wants Jaime dead.

If she wins and Strong is revealed, my bet is they kill her anyway as they would see a dead person fighting "before the gods" in a match to the death as trying to trick the gods.

The show will have to do some serious work to get the Faegon storyline across to the Hodors, I don't think they have any recollection of who he is and i dont think they even realize that Faegon and Oberynn's motives are connected. Not their fault or anything, but it will need to be explicitly stated somehow so everyone gets it

in order to win he would have to kill him right then right?
If he didn't make it, I'm pretty sure he didn't give a shite if he lost and Tyrion lost his head. Like someone else said, the poison was insurance to make sure even if he (and Tyrion) lost, the mountain still dies.

I had to keep my mouth shut when the Viper was showing off his spear skills before the match and my Hodor roommate goes "Well he's gonna die."

Who's to say that if Viper would have chilled out a bit, the Mountain would have been so incapacitated by the poison that the match would ahve ended with Viper winning. Snakebite was too focused on getting Mountain to confess before the match ended.

just a scene to establish how close Jamie and Tyrion are again
It felt like one of those scenes that prepares you for the death of one of the characters involved.
We have the luxury of knowing what happens but to a Hodor, I imagine it's intended to prepare you for Tyrion to die.
So, basically a troll by D&D.

Just as Martin did to us in the book.

Much better death than getting your head smashed in by the Mountain.

I'm gonna keep assuming Sandor fights and kills the Mountain. But, it sure would be cool if the High Sparrow is Howland Reed and he fights and kills the Mountain and then cuts Cersei's head off with some version of Ice.
I just crackpotted real hard there

If you recall, the lannisters send one of the kingsguard to escort the head to dorne but they end up stopping at every holdfast and castle along the way spending days at a time at each place
It pisses off doran and he talks about it a time or two
I think if it was the mountains head, the lannisters would want it to get to dorne ASAP so they don't have to worry about dorne being pissed
Doran delayed the Lannister men on purpose so he could figure out what to do with Myrcella. I think the head the Dornish were given is the Mountain's, and whatever is under Ser Robert's helmet is likely a combo of Falyse, Senelle, Mountain, etc.

I'm going to really be pissed that if it's Sandor that he (really) does die this time because GRRM hates making us happy.

GRRM once said he's glad he's written the books because the characters on the show are so nice. i wonder if the last 2 books he changed anything because he liked certain characters IRL

I'm still pissed off about Oberyn last night.

Where did the pardon come from? Sorry if it's mentioned earlier in the thread, but I don't want to go back and look for it. IIRC, the whole scene where Danaerys found out was much different in the show. That is the same scene where Barristan reveals himself, correct?
