I'm not sure if they will drag out the mountains death like in the book... I got the impression he was a few minutes away from dying in the show.

I got that impression from the book right after the fight, but then the death lingered. I also got the impression from the book that the Mountain may not have died and the skull sent to Dorne wasn't really his.

I agree. Show the other goings on in Essos next season. Much less of her.

I'm also firmly in the camp that couldn't give a shite about the Missandei/Grey Worm story. I felt like that was 5 minutes wasted on something instead of a more interesting scene like more of Arya and Hound.

I really didn't understand the Grey Worm scene, just a complete waste of time imo.

I can also see why people (Hodors) wouldn't enjoy the Tyrion/Jamie scene but I think it was needed to reinforce why Jamie helps Tyrion escape.

The entire Dany storline is a black hole, people are going to dread her scenes going forward.

I just don't understand what the show would gain by dragging out his death and adding the poison twist. Seems like the should move on

The show producers know Martin's endgame, so maybe the Mountain plays a part in it? But then again, it's Martin so it could be just a big ol' eye-gouging, head-smushing, rapey, red herring.

You do realize that Ser Robert Strong is just undead mountain right? Qyburn experimented on him to create some kind of zombie simpleton that responds to orders.

Does anyone have an opinion on the whole moron beatle smashing scene? I kept waiting for some type of realization or revelation as to what Tyrion was getting at but nope, just a bunch of nothing.

I do not remember much about the theon storyline when he takes moat cailin in the books. why are folks disappointed in how it went down? Glad they showed a flayed man.. glad they didn't show him getting flayed.

I'd like to see the skull smashing scene on mythbusters! I wonder how much force it would take to do that IRL

It wasn't the Mountain's skull. Ser Robert Strong is a reanimated Mountain.

I remember wondering about him, but never enough to make that connection. I had forgotten completely about Qyburn being at KL. For some reason I thought he was elsewhere. It makes sense now that you mention it though.

It might very well be. We are assuming Ser Robert actually has a head. He will not take his helmet so no telling what horror is underneath it. Then we have the prophecy about staring in the visor filled with nothing but blackness and dark blood. Who knows

I doubt it's the mountains head

If you recall, the lannisters send one of the kingsguard to escort the head to dorne but they end up stopping at every holdfast and castle along the way spending days at a time at each place

It pisses off doran and he talks about it a time or two

I think if it was the mountains head, the lannisters would want it to get to dorne ASAP so they don't have to worry about dorne being pissed

I think he'll get unveiled/unarmored during Cersei's trial by combat and everyone there will flip their shite. He may not even have a head .

I think there were a couple of points to it:

1. To further expound on Jamie & Tyrion's closeness. There are back-stories from the book that the show has yet to touch on, this seems like some way to do it.

2. It seemed like Tyrion was trying to find an excuse for the useless killing that goes on all over Westeros

3. Trying to give himself hope that even the biggest killers (the Mountain) should be worried about karma eventually.

Maybe he'll get "beheaded" during the TbyC and everyone will be going nuts cause they think he's dead. Then he will rise up cause he didn't have a head to begin with and BAM. Court is adjourned.

That's putting it mildly. If it goes down that way, I could see an all-out revolt against Cersei because, if for nothing else, you can't really have a fair fight-to-the-death if one of the combatants is already dead.
