How come everyone gets worked up when Sansa got raped on her wedding night, yet no one really said shite when Daenerys got the same thing done to her by a Dothraki on hers?

I mean, she was raped. It was a traumatic experience for her, but she eventually learned to enjoy it and it didn't become rape. And just because many other high lords basically rape their wives doesn't make Ramsay's behavior excusable. It's kind of sad to say, but the only two male characters who seem to have an actual problem with the raping of women and wives are Tyrion and Jaime.

EDIT: Although in the show, it seems that Jaime raped Cersei, so what the frick.

That being said, I think he'll end up in a pie...via Pod.

That would certainly give the scene where he didn't know how to skin or cook a rabbit a bit of irony. I think I'd like that scenario.

Other than that I'd say maybe Sansa should do it, preferably via impaling.

Or Theon doing it slowly would be ok with me.

Really, anyone but Brienne. I lost a lot of respect for her character when she fought and killed the Hound even after Arya specifically told her she didn't want to go with her. Of course if she aids Sansa substantially (but not in a Lady Sansaheart way), I think she will redeem herself in my eyes.

Well, LF is a fricking liar and as big of a sociopath as Ramsay is. I think Sansa knows LF a bit more than she'd like to admit and knew she had little choice in the matter.

I can get down with all of this, but how is he to know his legacy at that point? Jon's at the wall and Ramsey is somewhere North of Winterfell. Who could intervene before they meet to inform Jon of his linneage?

Howland Reed, Meera and Jojen's father. If not, Bran, who can see their Weirwoods and communicate through them.

I can think of three ways (but I doubt he finds out this way or this season).

1. The most logical way is by running into Howland Reed.

2. I guess Melisandre could see it in the fire and tell him (although I doubt that happens).

3. The Three-eyed Raven to have already known about it, informed Bran, and Bran somehow gets word to him. But since Bran is not going to be in this season, this is the most unlikely.

That is true, but it was consensual. It was just the size of his Dothrakdick that made it hurt, until she was taught the slut arts by her tent ho's.

ok i give up. sansa is not responsible for any choices she made in her entire life. she perceives everyone is threatening her and she has no choice. i hope none of you ever serve on a jury

Well, you are knighting pretty hard for the rapists in the show. It's not looking very good for you, dude.

OK, lets get you in some sort of arranged marriage with Mama June that you're pretty much forced to at gunpoint and that you have to have sex with Mama June or else you will be beaten within an inch of your life or worse. If you take the misogyny out of this, it is very clearly a rape.

If I walked up to a random woman, and said I will kill you and your family if you don't bend over and take it, and she bends over and takes it, that's a rape.

Um...did that "random woman" also MARRY you that day????

quote:

A husband can rape a wife.

Yes. But, she HAS to SAY "no". She can't just not want it. She needs to SAY IT!!!!

"We" all get to know her 'feelings' because WE are third party voyeurs via television. We get to know the plans and schemes, etc. From Ramsay's point of view:

1) she is a woman in medieval (type) times
2) She MARRIED him that very day
3) She bent over and took him

quote:

How can you honestly argue that that wasn't a rape?!

Because it was NOT rape

I hope you don't either, since I'm guessing pointing a gun at a woman is just an implication that he would kill her, and not a guarantee if she didn't sit there and take it.

Hell, she didn't have a choice the moment she stepped foot into Winterfell.

Ah but it was made very clear that if she set foot in Winterfell it was to marry Rammsey.

quote:

Littlefinger - No, you'll be marrying his son and heir, Ramsay.
- One day he'll be Warden of the North and

Sansa - No, you can't make me.
I will starve myself.
I will die before I have to go there.

Littlefinger - I won't force you to do anything.
Don't you know by now how much I care for you? Say the word and we turn the horses round, but listen to me.
Listen.
You've been running all your life.
Terrible things happened to your family and you weep.
You sit alone in a dark room, mourning their fates.
You've been a bystander to tragedy from the day they executed your father.
Stop being a bystander, you hear me? Stop running.

Sansa - There's no justice in the world.

Littlefinger - Not unless we make it.
You loved your family.
Avenge them.

there was no weapon, no actual threat made, no resistance and she just willingly married him knowing full well consummation would occur. situations aren't remotely the same
