DFAQ? His whole psych game was a threat. His dog kennel sex toy had already told her about him send dogs after girls that "bore" him. If she hadn't bent over the bed when he told her, her end would not have been pleasant.
definition of threat
quote:
a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done.
did not happen

He implied pretty damn hard that if she didn't take off her clothes (after asking her once) that she wouldn't like what would happen to her
If you don't call that a threat then you don't know what a threat is

she bent over an offered it, that is a consensual maneuver.
No, he pushed her over and ripped her dress.
quote:
he didn't threaten her
Sure he did, there was no alternative to her not bending over and taking it. There was no option.
quote:
she knew it was going to happen when she agreed to go along with LF's plan. she didn't resist and in fact offered it up. not rape
Your definition of offered it up and mine are different. Keep in mind she'd been married before and was still a virgin, not entirely out of the realm of possibility that she believed that she would be afforded the opportunity to get to know the man before he forced himself on her, ala Tyrion.
It's semantics. I believe that she was raped by her husband on her wedding night. You don't. Either way, she better be the one to stick him with the pointy end. Or at least the one to set in motion the events that lead to him being stuck with a pointy end.

No, he pushed her over and ripped her dress.
quote:just because you and her believed there was a threat doesn't me he actually threatened her.

quote:if you really believe she thought she wouldn't have to consummate the marriage on her wedding night you are an extremely naïve person. she went into it knowing full well she would have to. she didn't have to agree to the marriage and she did willingly. agreeing to the marriage knowing full well she would have to give it up

Man oh man. What if I have an empty gun, I know it's empty, and I point it at a girl and say bend over and take it, and she does. Is that a rape? No actual threat, right? Isn't a person's perception of a situation, whether accurate or not, important? I believe Sansa perceived that unless she allowed Ramsay to have sex with her, she would face severe consequences. Thus, it's not consensual, it's coerced and it's a rape.

quote:not relatable to the situation. he didn't have any weapons and did not make a threat to her. if she perceived there to be a threat when there was none actually made then it is not ramsay's fault. how would that play in court? woman, "I thought there was a threat". Did he actually threaten you? response "no". game over. no threat and she didn't resist. not rape

Why are so many calling that "rape"
It was on her wedding night, she did NOT say "no" or try to fight it. It was unpleasant sex for her. It was degrading for her. But, it was in no way..."rape". She made a decision to go along with this scenario. She doesn't LIKE what she has to do. But, it is 'willing' in that sense.
Ding!
Of course, Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri thinks it's rape. LINK /
Hilarious...the violence and debasement of women in this show is legendary (Hell...the Sansa scene was essentially the same as Dany's wedding night with Drogo), but THIS is what turns her off????

It's every bit as important as the culture/societal norms that they live in. This "incident" takes place in a culture that still hangs the bloody sheet out the window to prove consummation. In the only society Sansa has ever known, it is impossible for her husband to rape her on her wedding night. She agreed to the sex when she agreed to the marriage.

Jon Snow seeing as how Ramsay raped his cousin and is essentially bizzaro Jon Snow.

Whatever, you fricking racist.
I'm so glad this deteriorated into a rape argument. I was starting to get bored.

How come everyone gets worked up when Sansa got raped on her wedding night, yet no one really said shite when Daenerys got the same thing done to her by a Dothraki on hers?

Because Daenerys's rapist/husband was cool/attractive/badass/insertcompimentaryadjectivehere
Eta: If anything, Daenerys was more of an actual rape since she was never given the choice on the marriage.
