Charles Dance as Tywin is easily one of the best castings of the entire series so far.
I always pictured Patrick Stewart as Tywin.

I can totally see where to confusion would come in during that scene. They did a really poor job of intro-ing Ser Barristan (sp?) and in that particular scene, he did behave in a rather "fatherly" manner toward Jaime and talked about him being so young during his first kill, I was confused at first too and thought that was Tywin Lannister. It wasn't until a bit later that I realized who he was.

Just finished the book *no spoilers*
it was a fantastic read and don't regret getting ahead of the HBO series at all. should be one hell of a finale

the books only get better, just wait til you read the third one

I thought so to, and I was thinking, it is way too early for that to be Tywin

yeah the one thing they need to do is really try and repeat the minor characters names more. its really hard to grasp such an array of characters so quickly. but i guess thats why they supply those trees and guides and what not

I'm about half way thru the first book and while there is the spoiler factor, I think it gives me more understanding of the minor characters and what there names are.
They are doing a bang up job recreating the book.

@Books
I read the episode summaries of the future episodes and the one episode that GRRM actually writes(episode 8) seems as if that material could have been written by others. Also, I will be able to lay something to rest which has been bothering me since episode 1(hopefully).
Good news for everyone though is that the final two episodes sound exactly as what is in the novel as far as content; however, the timeline seems to me a bit skewed, IMO some events from later novels are being merged into this season, which isn't a bad thing since the material is pretty spot on(Nothing wrong/incorrect just this show is extremely fast paced fitting tons of info into the first season).

SoS is one of the best fantasy books ever written. Top 3 or 5.

How many of y'all are going to watch episode 7 on HBO Go after tonight's episode? I'm sure I will, but then I've got a couple issues...I'd have to watch it on my iPhone which would kind of suck, and then I'd have to wait two weeks for another episode, with nothing to look forward to next Sunday. Huge problems, I know.

I had thought about waiting, but realizing this thread will be full of spoilers for episode 7 I know I have to watch it tonight or else avoid this thread for a week.

Hey does anyone know how soon episode six will be up on HBOGO? I know seven will be up so would six be up as well? I'm in panama city me and gf and other couple were gonna try to roll to starbucks to watch both episodes tonight. 3G is real spotty and slow where I'm at now so it's hard to google to find out. Appreciate it if someone could help me out with that piece of info.

Personally, I don't think there should be any talk of Ep 7 in this thread ( or on these boards, honestly) until it airs on broadcast. There's gonna be about 4 people that watch it on Go that could ruin it for everyone.

I second that... because you KNOW that damn server is going to crash. Half of us won't be able to see it if we try.
