Watched it last night on Hulu and it was a great film. Just an incredible story of not only its failures in logistics and the Millenial reactions but each and every step Billy McFarland took to kite payments using one scam to pay for previous ones.

Looking forward to also comparing this one to the Netflix version in a day or 2.

Worth watching.

Watched it last night. It was fantastic.

I’m happy I watched the Hulu version first, otherwise I wouldn’t have known the Netflix version is partially produced by the frick Jerry Media team, who are clearly trying to distance themselves from their role in covering up the red flags about the festival, and further defraud the people who paid for that shite show.

frick Jerry built themselves up by stealing content and ideas from others, so I’m happy they got blasted in the Hulu film. Have to believe the Netflix version won’t be as harsh on them.

It looks interesting but there seems to be some sketchy stuff with the making of these docs. The guy who made the Netfix doc is accusing Hulu of paying Billy McFarland $250k to interview him for their doc. Meanwhile, Netlflix partnered with two different companies that were involved in the actual festival.

ETA: More details in Bluefin's post^

Yeah, they paid him to lambast him and call him a liar to his face on camera

The Netflix one was done by VICE if my memory is correct.

For those not familiar with the Fyre disaster, here's a Washington Post article on the festival.

And an E-Online article with hilarious embedded video of guy demanding food

Watched the Netflix one last night. Billy is a piece of shite. Damn. What an absolute shite show all around.

Didn't know Hulu made one also. I will check that out this weekend.

They both are great documentaries. They should’ve been combined in one as they both have details that you don’t hear about in the other doc. As said before, the Hulu documentary holds the frick Jerry dudes to the fire more, which is good because they are huge pieces of shite

IMO, the Hulu version wins the head to head. Notable as well is that a great deal of the footage and imaging is used in both docs. Like, 80% redundancy I would bet. The Hulu interviews with the Jerry team and McFarland make it the winner I guess. Not to mention how they really dive into how McFarland did the scam and his past history.

But the water customs story from Netflix was amazing, right down to swishing mouthwash

I laughed at the end of Netflix one on the conference call with all the employees. The one guy says that they basically committed fraud. And Ja Rule chimes in "We didnt commit fraud, it was just false advertising"

Hahah. About to put the Hulu one on.

Nope. He did it to freshen up before swallowing some kids

This was trending last night on twitter

Those who watched, tell me if this is true:

2 documentaries about the festival.

1. Is done for netflix/hulu and shows you how bad of a shite show it is, and how bad many local vendors got screwed over, and these people cannot afford to lose the $ and income they did.

2. other was by Vice and a fluff piece, and did not tell the whole story, like netflix did.

This is what i got from reading a shite load of tweets on it. Correct or people pushing other agendas?

Incorrect. Netflix made a movie that was produced by Vice and the frick Jerry team.

Hulu made a completely separate movie.

The frick Jerry team had a hand in promoting the festival so a lot of people see it as hypocritical that they are now making a movie about it.

I was really sympathetic towards that guy right up until that story. If that’s how committed you are to that guy, then you get what you get.

Pigs LOVE beer. It’s basically rotting grain in liquid form.

I mean..... the byproduct of beer production is basically pig feed.....

This McFarland guy is trash "Spling"?

This guy has no original ideas, just copied other people and couldn't execute his ideas.
