I think I have these as 1a and 1b, but that might be quibbling.

The Hangover

It's not my favorite comedy, but I have to say that I laughed more at that movie in the theater than any other film this century.

Feel like it had an insane peak but has not really had any staying power over the next decade or so

I think it’s a bit like Borat in that it was insanely popular but that popularity quickly turned people off to the movie for rewatches and remembering it more fondly due to the just oversatuation that it became in some ways

Looking back it was one of the hardest laughing I’ve ever done in a theater, but yet i still struggle to go back and rewatch it much since because the beats have just been beaten into the ground. The Ken Jeoug shtick is borederline unwatchable to me these days

I like when a good story can still make you laugh your arse off...

So Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall are up there for me.

Deadpool I can watch over and over.. a good action/comedy rocks..
Like 90's True Lies

Looking at these lists they just can't compare with the 20th century comedies.

Airplane
Naked Gun
Blazing Saddles

Tropic Thunder is definitely up there.

Reserved comedy: The Other Guys

Mockumentary: Best in Show

Satire: Shaun of the Dead

But I really can't think of a laugh-out-loud comedy that we had aplenty of in the 90's.

For as close as you can get to the 90's comedies or 80's - I'd go with Eurotrip.
