That was actually... better than I expected. Maybe Ron Howard was able to salvage the movie.

The only reason he becomes a smuggler is because the government denies him healthcare and his parents snuck into his birth country and now he's forced to leave it.
Also, it is revealed that he smuggles vegetables and vitamins to planets where the government puts vegans to death and forces everyone to eat red meat.
The movie ends with them starting a Microagression and white guilt curriculum at flight school.

The irony is if they had done a TLJ type movie for one of these standalones it would have been received WAY better, but you can already tell this is going to be painfully by the numbers.

Okay TLJ was bad but damn you guys are approaching PoliTalk level insanity over anything SW at this point.

Ron Howard has directed some really good movies. A Beautiful Mind and Apollo 13 come to mind. He also did Frost/Nixon and Cinderella Man.
He's directed some mediocre films too as have all directors, but I think he's a competent filmmaker.

I mostly enjoyed TLJ so I’m not as down on SW as most here but I gotta admit that trailer pretty much sucks.
Every other trailer from the first TFA trailer through the last TLJ trailer got me fired up but that left me feeling very meh.

Age, and I don't quite think they got the special effect quite right for Vader's voice over. Same with the lightsaber sound effects in the ST and Rogue One.
