I mean, he made me believe he was a young Harrison ford in age of Adeline.....

Why couldnt he do an impression of a young han solo in Solo

I guess for you it wasnt. For me it was one of the worst movies i have ever seen in my life. A complete abomination. Want to know how much i hated it? Its been nearly a month since ive seen it and during my viewing a a fire alarm got pulled that made me miss the ending. I got a free pass but havent gone back to finish it. Its just that awful.

Did you get to the part where the rebels have to defeat the big gun, which is literally a giant gun, and Rose "saves the day" by preventing Finn from kamikaze destroying the gun, which then vaporizes the rebel base?

After pandering to Asian racism by having Rose beat the shite out of Finn the whole movie. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that kiss between them cost Disney at least $50 mil. It's hard to say why they pulled the movie after two weeks, but considering Disney's willingness to downsize Finn on the movie poster for that market, I bet that was a factor.

Didn't they have to hire an acting coach for the guy playing young Han?

Can you explain why you think this feels like Twilight to you?

Sure.

It's fan service to the lowest in the crowd, terrible acting, shitty writing, the main cast is not believable in their roles, and despite all of that, the diehards will go down defending it.

I guess I'm in the minority here...but there are just some characters I think are simply off limits of ever being recast...EVER. Interestingly, Harrison Ford plays two of them...Han Solo and Indiana Jones.

River Phoenix was a great Indy. And you can't say he was an impressionist. Had he lived, I think he'd have put Johnny Depp, Leo and several others out of business.

shite, maybe that's why he's dead. I mean, Depp was at the Viper Room that night.

Looks like the Star Trek reboots.

Over the top action and smarmy one-liners.

That makes no sense. How was Twilight fan service?

Also not sure how you can tell if the writing is total shite when it's just a trailer. I get that they had to damn near reshoot the movie but it's not like Ron Howard is some hack. The guy playing Solo was meh but the rest of the cast seemed fine.

Sorry, just not seeing it.

Seems like you just wanted to insult the movie and picked something this board hates.

Again, I've thought the very idea of a Han Solo origin story was a bad from the get go but the Twilight comparison doesn't make sense at all to me.

I would think if you ware going to compare it to anything it would be the Star Trek remakes.

I was optimistic about Disney handling Star Wars after TFA and rogue one. I am not optimistic now. What they have done is nothing short of blasphemy.

This movie is gonna suck balls.

TLJ had a Twilight-esque shirtless scene in which Rey gets all giddy and flustered by his buff bod.

I wasn't going to turn it off after Mary Poppins did a few of her favorite things floating around in space. It was too early in the movie, but the ridiculous force-skype "Team Kylo" shirtless scene made me want to just shut it down. That was another moment that totally destroyed their "girl power" assertions.

You know, maybe I'll have to defer to your expertise on that. To me, it seemed that they sacrificed decent acting, a plot, and storytelling to cater to teenage girls.

It's not just the trailer...

Even if I agreed, the guy playing Solo is somewhat important to the film.

Thanks for confirming my last point.
