Yea I’m not falling for that.

You literally dont need to watch TLJ to understand what's going on at all.

The problem still remains that these Disney movies do not fit into the regular star wars movies.

The problem with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker isn’t just that it absolutely walks back a number of potent reveals and plot threads from the last movie, but rather that the 142-minute movie spends almost its entire running time retconning its predecessor and adding painfully conventional “plot twists” and patronizing reversals

gives Daisy Ridley essentially no real arc of her own. The screenplay never forces her to make any hard choices or live with the consequences of her mistakes.

Hmmm... why weren't these things said about TLJ??? Because I feel like this should be a review for that film

The New York Times Kyle Buchanan respond on Twitter to “The Rise of Skywalker” by writing, “[The film] could only have been ruder to Rian Johnson if they had motion-smoothed it.

I'm erect after reading this. This has me so hyped up now

I think that's what they're going for. They got a bunch of shills to say the same thing, that the new one sucks - because it sticks it to Big Bad Rian Johnson.

So you're supposed to react like that.

The Rise of Skywalker's 56% Rotten Tomatoes Critics Score Confirms A Disney Star Wars Disaster

Talks about the multiple reviewers all saying the same thing - basically "if you hated The Last Jedi, you'll like Fall of Skywalker" or "this movie sucks because it undoes all of Rian's fine work."
