My favorite joke on the show was when the old guy stops by, having been gone for decades, to see what the bar is like. He meets Sam, marvels at the various changes, then shouts “Oh hey Norm!”

That was the guy Sam bought the bar from. Norm orders a beer from him without missing a beat, before realizing it’s not just another night.
Then Woody walks up and says something that causes the former owner to ask Sam if he was “coach’s boy?”
Also one of my favorite scenes.
