It was either The Dirty Dozen or Midway.

Now that I think of it, it was probably The Incredible Mr. Limpet.

Sergeant York (after first battle)

"Well I'm as much agin' killin' as ever, sir. But it was this way, Colonel. When I started out, I felt just like you said, but when I hear them machine guns a-goin', and all them fellas are droppin' around me... I figured them guns was killin' hundreds, maybe thousands, and there weren't nothin' anybody could do, but to stop them guns. And that's what I done."

Possibly Red Dawn, but I can't remember. I liked stuff like Commando and the Rambo movies as a kid but the first really great war movie I saw was Saving Private Ryan.

Hard to remember. My Dad, a 'Nam Vet, watched a lot of war movies, but never about 'Nam.

If I had to guess, I would go with either Dirty Dozen, The Longest Day, or Patton.

I distinctly remember Red Dawn...first movie we ever watched on our VCR from Conn's....rented the movie from Conn's, too.

I saw Midway in the Bon Marche Twin so I'll say that one.

The seats "moved" during explosions and such. It was quite the experience.

Sands of Iwo JIma.

My uncle was actually in that offensive and recognized some of his former Marine buddies who were extras in the movie.

I'm not really sure, guaranteed though that I didn't see it in a theater but on television. Probably was Pork Chop Hill but might have been The Guns of Navarone, Run Silent Run Deep, or Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo. I'm almost positive that the first war movie I saw in a theater was Von Ryan's Express.

Theme song was Paint it Black. I watched it.

I think the first one I remember may have been Patton then Kelly's Heroes.

Was one of my favorite tv shows at the time.

I’ll always associate Paint It Black with this show.

The Green Berets starring John Wayne. Must have been 6-7 when my dad taught me what a punji stick was.
