My pops is an old Devil Dog so he loves his war movies. He got me interested in them. When I was 13 he had me sit down and watch Pearl Harbor then Black Hawk Down in the same day. I’ve been hooked ever since.

I wanna say Guns of Navarone, but I could be wrong.

Sargent York or Midway probably.

Probably the sands of iwo Jima for me as well. I was very young so it's tough to remember. Kelly's Heroes and Where Eagles Dare are two other possibilities.

Kelly's Heroes. Hilarious and great song.

Probably Von Ryan's Express because we had it on VHS when I was a kid and I remember watching it often.
Or Sands of Iwo Jima because we also had that on VHS and I remember my Dad had me watch it.

Pearl Harbor. I was a kid and we saw it in theaters. It wanted to be the next Titanic. I still think they did a good job with the look of the movie. But the plot and the dialogue... yikes

If that's a war movie, then easily that for me.
My Mom was born in Austria (during the war and occupation as displaced persons) before immigrating to the US in the 50's and then my sisters were in a local rendition as kids in the 80's so that movie was a staple growing up. Played nonstop on our household TV.

I think it was Empire of the Sun.
Not really a battle scene type of war movie , but it got me interested in more serious films about war time.

Patton.
I was 3 or so.
I then developed a habit of getting in trouble for cursing.
