I don't have any faith in this franchise. I think the actress choice for the main charatcer is very poor.

Turner used to be quite pretty but ruined her face with that god awful cheek surgery. She also got a lot of hideous tattoos, which they can cover thankfully.
She also strangely got worse as an actress. The early years of GoT she's perfectly fine. As the part got bigger and more serious her acting got noticably worse. She's extremely wooden

I actually didn’t hate the picture in the OP.
It could be much worse.
I agree that Sophie Turner has the range of a piece of wood in a wig though.
Now that tweet with her comment makes this show a no go for me.
No one who was going to watch this show gives a shite about “the other side” of Lara Croft.
As an aside, how have the PR people not realized that keeping those thoughts to yourself prevents preconceived notions?
How have they not told these actors and actresses to shut the frick up?

The outfit is right, but all I see is Jean Grey in a Lara Croft costume.
I don't have a hate for Sophie Turner, but I haven't been enamored with her performances either. She's kind of like Bella Ramsey, with those early GoT moments (though Sophie had a lot more, obviously) and just seem to be riding those despite not reaching anywhere near those levels again.
Plus... and this is a nitpick I guess... but she looks older in that picture even though she's only 29. She shouldn't look that old.

How have consumers of said PR still not figured out that the PR is PR, and that an actress is never going to be told to publicly claim the character she's playing is nothing more than a sex symbol?
