I think Beulah was totally behind it. She was betting against Beth and Rip on that Bull and she could have outbid them if she wanted to flex but stopped and let Beth/Rip think they got the upped hand.

A TikTok video said the fire destroyed all the records of the transaction. If the government found the papers, they could shut down Rip's operation

For Beulah to be behind it, she would have had to have known that they were going there to buy a bull. And if you have a prize heard of cattle with 100 years of superior genetics, you are not going to the Rio Paloma stock sale to buy a bull to breed for superior beef for sale at high prices. You would be going and buying a highly regarded bull from a highly regarded herd either through a personal sale or a stock sale with high grade animals.
Also, you would usually quarantine the bull and a lot of these folks would have the bull checked out by their private vet. If Rip was selling prized horses for John, he would know a little bit more about this.
I thought this episode was strange. Where is Beth going now, is she going to the 10 petal for help to either buy cattle to fill or meat contract or replace the herd?
The scenes with the boy hanging out with this crazy rancher was strange. The school would have probably called Beth if he did not show up for class and just how long would he think he could get away with working all day instead of going to school. They have never had any trouble with the kid so maybe they are setting it up for him to rebel and go live with the guy or something. That part was kinda silly.

Maybe someone was just trying to sell a sick bull. How do we know Rip was targeted? I would they know he was going to that sale to buy a bull?

Rip was definitely targeted. That is the exact bull any new rancher would need. Everyone knew that. Knowing that they took a chance, brought in a bull they infected, bid rigged & worked in their favor.
The broker Rip roughed up was paid to bring the bull to the auction.
Beulah & her connection coordinated the sabotage behind the scenes.

Why do I have a sneaky suspicion that Rip & Beth will be running the 10 Petal Ranch when all is said and done? They've made it clear that the current foreman is in over his skies, doesn't sound like Beulah wants the adopted son running things when she's done, her real son is most likely going to end up in prison for murder if Rip plays his cards right, and the granddaughter doesn't seem to want any part of running the ranch. I'm not really sure what the future prospects are for the 10 Petal Ranch once Beulah is out of the way.

Watch the preview I posted. Its appears Rip is now running the ranch. Walked into the bunkhouse and said get your gear out in ten minutes.

Sure in the rare instance when people always do things by the book, but I’ve been in the seed stock cattle biz for decades and I can promise most people who buy a bull or any new cows often just turn them out into the herd.
Also, my guess is this has nothing to do with the neighbor, rather will be a story about Mexican cartels trying to traffic over infected cattle.

Yeah, but I mean running the ranch in the place of Beulah, not just the foreman.
Also I'm still wondering what is happening in that scene with Rip in their bunkhouse. He's telling all of them to get their gear together and that they have 10 min. But I have a hard time believe he's already running that ranch by the very next episode.

Yeah, I’m sure Beulah has something to do with it. Why question though, is why didn’t Rip try or get information out of the cattle agent or auctioneer or whatever he was? They just torched his place and let him go. Seems like he could have told them something.

does appear Rip is running the place but that can't be it. Thats gotta be a misdirect. I think it's more likely that he's giving them a chance to get out before he does Rip stuff.....especially since the foreman says the Jacksons are going to get him

in the preview, who is getting arrested (Carter???) and who gets punched? The person throwing the punch is the ranch hand, Austin, who got beat with the branding iron correct for asking too many questions about the foreman's death....but who did he hit?
