Sword and Scale has a 2 part podcast about Luka. It was fascinating, but I’d recommend getting blackout drunk beforehand so some of the audio is a blur the next morning

was hoping to go to bed early. Started this and couldn't stop. fricking crazy.

Me too I got about 1/2 of the 3rd episode before I fell asleep. Hopefully this dude tries to resist arrest and somebody just puts a cap in him. I hate that dude. Ugh.

I just recently rescued a cat. Never been a cat person in my entire life, this stuff was hard to watch.

Killing the person was obviously the worst part x10,000, but the lead up on the kat videos was just gut wrenching.

Spoilers...

The second half of the last episode, with the whole getting caught thing and all of the clues (Casablanca/Paris, Basic Instinct/Manny, etc.) was mind blowing. Even if they created and stretched some of those things, that was pretty awesome.

How did they know he had a Mickey Mouse tee shirt and black wig on when he went to the airport.

Did I miss something.

And what about the second pair of hands in one of the videos?!?! They mention it but never touch on it again.

They had to have looked at that video. Maybe a fake hand. There were three hands in the cat video.

I laughed every time the guy said it. The documentary was really good. I never heard of the story before.

So I just watched this tonight

SPOILERS..................

The Basic Instinct connection at the end was interesting regarding the ‘Manny’ aspect.

And no doubt Luka was a sick frick, but is it possible he was schizophrenic? Meaning ‘Manny’ was an alter ego?

Atleast a year before the murder, he went to that lawyer claiming abuse by ‘Manny’. The lawyer at the end said if he planned out the alibi that far in advance, it was psychotic and brilliant.

I just wonder if he was schizophrenic and had multiple personalities.

Regardless, he is a sick, narcissistic bastard.

Good documentary that was pretty well done.

Footage leaving the apartment the next day.

The real chilling scene was him wearing the victims yellow shirt a few hours after the murder.

What about the footage inside the casino where the cat lady worked? Was he in Vegas stalking her?

I think he just found out where she worked and then liked a video from footage of that casino to freak her out but I don’t think he was in Vegas

I remember this story so as soon as they said his name, Luka Magnotta, I knew where this was going. It was still absolutely fascinating because there was tons I didn’t know. I didn’t know about the cat killing videos leading up to him killing Jun Lin. I didn’t know about his total obsession with movies and how he basically tried to make his life into one. It seems to me that Luka has multiple mental disorders. Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Delusions, etc. Along with having no remorse it was the perfect storm.

My beef with the documentary was they left some things unanswered. Never went back to the third hand (I agree with the poster who said it probably belonged to whomever owned the python and that Luka probably had online friends he did this stuff with). They left out that he is up for parole after serving 25 years and that he married another inmate in his prison. Can’t remember what else now but there were a few things I remember thinking they didn’t go back to and they should.

Oh, and did they ever find the poor dudes head? They mention a foot and hand being sent to the political parties but nothing about the head or the other foot and hand, for that matter. Unless I totally missed it.

Edit:

Watched it this weekend. It was great. My big gripes:

SPOILERS

As most have said, the 2nd set of hands. then mention it and then never talk about it again. This just give it the whole one sided view of the piece instead of a neutral look at it.

Second, yes i agree about the internet peeps really did nothing. Each time the trail went cold, Luka sent a hint to get them back looking for him. Fist his name, second they got the hint about him being in England and in what hotel. He got caught because of how a lot of killers get caught, bad luck on their part. He went to an internet cafe, which he probably did every single day. Yet this cafe's attendant was a news junkie and saw a piece on him and recognized him. That's it. Thats why the police releases information at points in cases to get millions of eyes out for them.

Third, i fricking hated how the last 3 minutes they threw shite on the audience for watching the documentary.

Question, can I watch without seeing the murder of kittens? Like if I know what he did, can I skip ahead to a certain part and go from there?

I can't get over if you're a pretty boy male model, why do you have to kill kittens? That's really messed up. I mean, if I were a pretty boy male model I would be doing more fun things, like taking drugs, going to clubs and getting my dick sucked by OT 6s and up.

I was into it pretty good for %90 but it ended pretty sour for those two reasons.

I mean the internet people did nothing to help solve the case. The cops/detectives actually did a really good job and the documentary made it seem like they were lazy and didnt care.

But like you say, the very end was just ridiculous. Ya'll are the ones that went nuts and possibly made the one guy kill himself and kept Luka going. Whytfwould I as a viewer, who had never heard of this case or this dude prior to the documentary, and any responsibility in this. You're the fat brawd trying to be someone else online who became obsessed over it, dont look at the camera and talk straight into it and try and make me question my involvement. That was just stupid. It was a pretty crappy way to end an overall good documentary.

They don’t actually show the kitten murder. But they show pieces of the video that give you an idea

Awesome series. This dude is probably the greatest troll of all time. To place the photoshopped pictures, to the comments about how hot luka is, going to a news company to fend off false rumors, to the user names of previous serial killers, combining Casablanca and Basic Instinct...flawless.

How do you think that dumb attorney felt when shite sunk in as to why Luka chose him?

They don’t show the actual killings of the cats. Just the lead up to where you can imagine what happens.
