I disagree. Keving, moreso than Winnie, was almost unconditionally "there" for her and whereas she only kept him around seemingly when her other wells dried up

What happened to Kevin that required someone being "there" over the course of the series? Outside of killing his 8th grade math teacher, he had a pretty smooth road. Privileged, even, I would argue.

That's certainly true.

True, and Winnie was always messing around on him with big athletic preppy-types. Even on the last episode. Kevin was clearly not her type.

As far as Jack dying in his 50's, sucks but makes perfect sense. He was always eating bacon, heavy meats and stressed tf out. Probably it was a heart or stroke related issue. Don't get me wrong, it made me sad too that he died in 1975. His kids were all kind of shitty to him.

I like to think she went and later married the doctor who was jocking her from her hometown. Maybe they became a power couple with her future CEO status.

I remember watching the first season or two and liking it, then it got tired and I quit watching it.

I've never seen it since, and really have no desire to.

The stress definitely contributed to his early death. The bacon and "heavy meats" likely helped so long as he wasn't ingesting large amounts of sugar and carbs. Meat heals baw.

The Wonder Years was the first "real world ending" I had ever experience with a show. I remember sitting there mouth agape for a while. Re-watching it as I've gotten older, the Winnie part doesn't bother me as it did the first viewing. Jack's death still bums me out.

Spoilers obviously

It makes no sense to me why Kevin and Winnie didn't end up together plus tGOAT television father died soon there after. Never getting to see Kevin's children. The entire last season was just so depressing to me. I love the show but the way it ended just seemed wrong to me.

Thoughts?

ETA: FWIW, the entire series is on Netflix.

I rewatched it a few years ago. I loved this series when it was airing and always wanted Kevin and Winnie together. The rewatch though made me dislike both characters. Kevin had so many better chicks after him and he kept going back to that dumpster fire Winnie. She abused the shite out of him and he just kept going back to that well. He wasn't innocent either though, he deserved a lot of it. It was good for him to move on from her though in the ending. Only part I didn't like was picking her up from the airport. Realistic end would of been them never seeing each other again in his lifetime.

True, ended like real life. Not predictable and a bit sad.

It would be nice now that everyone is older, they did a reunion movie to find out what happened 20 years after 1973. Why did Kevin move away from the town? Did Wayne drive the furniture company in to bankruptcy? Did Paul sue Kevin for being a douchey friend? One can only dream

Did anyone else like the newer friends at the end? I really liked Giovanni Ribisi’s character and the guy who played Chuck wasn’t bad, either. After rewatching I think I enjoyed the last two seasons the best.

The episode where Kevin and Ribusi’s character goes back to his hometown to see his gf was great.

Winnie was hot and Kevin was a nice guy. Life is all about hot girls treating nice guys like shite, especially a little dweeb like Kevin who still looked 12 when he was 18.

Hilarious that this is a four year old thread that got bumped.

Put me firmly in the “Kevin is a selfish a-hole” camp. Made a thread about it before actually: LINK
