Sorry, I know this is not the right board for this but with all the Disney news on here, do you think people will love Tiana’s Bayou Adventure the same way they did with Splash Mountain?

People loved splash mountain, because of 50 years of nostalgia. Disney threw that away in the blink of an eye in spite of overwhelming public sentiment. That has been a reoccurring theme for Disney over the past decade. I don’t think they will ever get that back.

I’m prepared for the downvotes. I’m looking forward to it and think it will be cool. The technology in Disney’s newest attractions are really neat and I love the New Orleans theme

People ride it for the drop, not the theme. I never liked the ride anyway, unless it was a very hot day and I wanted to walk around with wet underwear for an hour.

I wonder how many people knew that splash mountain was inspired by song of the south anyway ?

Did anyone actually care before 2020?

Seemed like a knee jerk reaction to say you’re changing things when nobody really knew it needed changing to start with nor asked for it to be changed

They almost always cycle out older Disney rides, this isn’t an exception. If they’re still going to Disney, they’re going to ride it. And likely enjoy it.

first I think it’s dumb they got rid of the name Splash Mountain. it’s an iconic name and it’s not necissary.

rides get referbished all the time. my son’s generation will only know this ride and have fond memories and my generation will be making memories with our kids.

Princess and the Frog is a cute movie with fantastic music so i am sure this ride will be cute, but i’ll always miss the original.

I still can’t believe they closed down Splash Mountain and you are right about the nostalgia. I went back in June and it felt so weird not seeing Splash Mountain in service.

I’m still looking forward to riding it with the new theme next time I go. Only thing about the new technology at Disney and just rides in general at Disney is they tend to break down more often now. All the years I went in the 90s and early 2000s, I never remember a ride breaking down. This year that I went, a lot of rides were down and I heard a lot of people in the parks complaining.

I think it’s great that Disney is highlighting the majestic mountains of South Louisiana. It reminds me of being a child, growing up in NOLA, and going mountain climbing in New Orleans East.

I think it will harken back to all the good memories and adventures that folks associate with Louisiana's mountains.

Since the easily offended are already boycotting Disney, I don’t see how these changes will increase the “damage”.

Me and my kids just like the drop. I never saw the movie. “I’m a man, I’m 40”. My kids never saw the movie that it was based on either, but they do like Princess and the Frog.

The world will survive and live on. Disney has F’ed up many things, but this is one I couldn’t care less.

“But there’s no mountains in Louisiana!!!!!!” Who gives a shite. It’s a fricking ride. The people who claim to give a shite are all the same ones who shite on Disney and the families like me who take their kids

I can’t believe they are just redoing it at the surface level. I thought they would need to tear it all down and completely exorcise the ghosts of racism that helped build profits for Disney.

They are just blackfacing splash mountain.

Come on, nobody loved Splash Mountain. That was one of the Disney rides that always made me think, "did I really just pay $350 for this?"
