I’m prepared for the downvotes. I’m looking forward to it and think it will be cool. The technology in Disney’s newest attractions are really neat and I love the New Orleans theme
Woke aside, no one post my generation even understands where the rides theme comes from. You haven’t been able to easily get Song of the South in almost 30 years. Most people my age haven’t seen it or don’t remember it.
I actually love Princess and the Frog, especially the music. There are more important things to be upset about that Disney is doing. This isn’t one of them.

Well, it certainly looks nicer.
That being said, I imagine the experience won’t change much.

Not until they reboot her as a blonde-haired, blue-eyed white girl.

No. I know they will not.

It's no different than the flume log ride at any six flags park.
Disney just dressed it up a little bit and turned it into a story.
You notice the story the first time but after that it's just another ride to me.

Not my experience with Splash Mountain at all.
For the new ride they've completely changed Tiana's story to now she runs a "co-op" and they made up a bunch of new characters who run it with her.
Because apparently wanting to make her own restaurant, like in the movie, just wasn't progressive enough.

Seemed like a knee jerk reaction to say you’re changing things when nobody really knew it needed changing to start with nor asked for it to be changed
The DEI scum at Disney are running the show. Frick Disney. Universal is better anyway.

Back-projection faces are inferior to audio animatronics.
And the novelty of the trackless ride system wears off when they don't put literally any effort into the other aspects of the ride.
Ratatouille ride is straight garbage and there is almost zero theming in the queue area.

Can’t speak much about the queue area as we fast passed it, but Ratatouille was super fun. Are you 80 years old?

first I think it’s dumb they got rid of the name Splash Mountain. it’s an iconic name and it’s not necissary.
This is my only complaint about it. The "three mountains" in MK have always been a staple, and now 1/3 of that is gone. They could have kept the name Splash Mountain and just repurposed it into Tiana/PatF shite.
And FWIW, I like that ride but not as much as other people. It always had a brutal queue being that most was outside, but once you got inside that cold arse a/c was glorious, and considering the length of the ride (like 7+ minutes) and the fact that most of it was inside, it was always a nice break from the heat. I could do without getting wet obviously, but for the most part it doesn't soak you too bad (depending on where you sit).

I mean the actual ride is the complete same. The only thing that changed is the decorations. Apart from some die hard Song of the South fans who will hold their kids away from this ride in protest, I think Disney will be completely fine regarding this.

That number will be zero or very close to zero IMO. Any of that sort of talk just seems like social media chirping.

The Guardians of the Galaxy ride is better.

I hate the Splash Mountain Ride and just about every ride in Magic Kingdom. As someone who is 6'7" Splash Mountain was extremely uncomfortable and hopefully they make it more comfortable this go round.

I doubt I'd skip it if I'm in the Magic Kingdom, but I won't wait in a line for it and I won't go out of my way to ride it.
The real problem is it isn't actually a new ride. It adds no value to the park because it adds no capacity. This doesn't make the Magic Kingdom a better park in any way. My family skipped that park completely during our most recent trip and this facade change doesn't move the needle at all (the Tron ride looks like a huge letdown too). They should have left Splash as it was and added a new ride featuring Princess and the Frog.
Meanwhile, Universal has an entire new theme park opening in 2025. Going to be awesome. Disney completely dropped the ball here. They have nothing exciting announced for the parks at all.

The final incline is filled with scenes of white people placing explosives on the Industrial Canal levee. Riders are then plunged over the 52 foot drop to simulate riding the levee waters as they pour into the 9th Ward. An Animatronic Kanye West proclaims George Bush doesn't care about black people as the ride concludes.
