Watched it last night with some friends. We laughed our asses off most of the movie. I was shocked at how much they allowed him to make fun of Disney/Marvel, but it was hilarious.
Blade was the biggest shock to me. Was not expecting that at all. The Chris Evans surprise made the whole audience gasp

I felt like I was watching wrestling the way I popped when Snipes appeared on screen. I did a small fist pump and let out a not so quiet "hell yes!"

I like how he made gambit overly cajun like the comics and he was hard to understand. It was perfect.

Blade got a lot of claps and cheers in my showing it was the loudest the theater got.
I was shocked to see him too AZ he and Ryan Reynolds hate each other and even joked about it in the end. I was waiting for OG Howard the Duck to show up too.

I loved it! Yes it was a comedy and I’m fine with it.
We FINALLY saw a proper Wolverine. He’s violent and brutal like he’s supposed to be. His mask looked awesome. I don’t know why Hollywood can’t figure out how to put established characters onto film. Ryan Reynolds finally gave us a good Colossus, Juggernaut, and now Wolverine.

I liked comic accurate 5'2" Wolverine.
Also Cavillrine and how Deadpool said "we'll treat you good unlike those other guys down the street(DC/WB)."
Also I noticed the Wolverine from Xmen 2099, that was cool. One of the last xmen series I read.

I got a laugh out of seeing the crucified Wolverine. That was an intense comic story from like 1989

I know Deadpool is raunchy, but my 13 year old is asking me to take him to see it. Anyone think it would be too inappropriate for a young teen to check it out with his parents?
They curse alot and make some sex jokes but I don't think it was all that bad. Ask his friends parents if their kids are gonna see it. If none of his friends see it, then he isn't missing out.

I wonder if Wolverine is going to stick around.
Oh definitely and when you watch it, it’s blatantly apparent.
It was so much fun. The cameos were great too. And for those saying it wasn’t smartly written, once enough people see it, I’ll argue that it was. It was funny and very cleverly done.

This felt like the testing ground for bringing back everyone from the first phase like RDJ and others.
If they can get away with disturbing Logan’s ending, then Pandora’s box is wide open on that front. Which I guess is better than their current strategies, but also feels like something that will cheapen the original run of movies

God I certainly hope not. My hope is that they pointed out how silly that entire idea is and made a huge joke of it. Like having the cameos be the island of misfit toys (except for Blade). But maybe that’s just how I saw it lol.
I think Deadpool even says that in a monologue lol.

I’ve been wanting Cavill as Wolverine for a decade. I didn’t realize anyone else did. He’d be great. Yeah he’s taller than wolverine should be but so I Jackman.
I lost it at the “Paul Rudd finally aged” line.

There is definitely a demand for more Wolverine movies if they simply do them right. It has to be R. Those claws have to actually do bloody damage. Wolverine has to be ferocious.

Yeah, I don’t think we’ve gotten enough good wolverine movies. Crazy to say considering how many there've been lol.

We didn’t get any good Wolverine movies until the last one when he was old and decrepit. We never saw him unleashed, fricking people up with his claws. I got a weird boner seeing him fight Deadpool the first time in the void. Where both characters are going nuts on each other. I told my wife THIS is what he’s supposed to be all this time.
Just think back to one of the early xmen movies, maybe the first, when he was shot in the forehead and knocked unconscious for a while. frick that, a pistol shot to his forehead doesn’t faze him.

That scene with the intros was like watching the Royal Rumble. Good stuff!

Extremely fun movie, and that's all that matters in the end.
With that said, the M/TV board needs to stop acting like it wants original content in its superhero movies because based on its reactions to this and the last Spider-man, it's clear the board just wants member berries.
Nostalgia is a powerful drug.

quote:This was filled with joke cameos and people are eating it up lol. Except Blade. He’s an icon and I loved his “There’s only ever going to be one Blade” line. It’s like that was Disney saying “Don’t worry, we see our mistakes”.
Nostalgia is a powerful drug.
The truth is, we do want original content. We just want good original content. And we also don’t want our old content being shite on. So they need to find a way to make that kind of content happen.

I'd watch a Gambit origin story with Channing Tatum
