Reliable industry source and Puck columnist Matt Belloni recently stated in his newsletter that Kennedy won't be announcing any big screen additions to the franchise at the upcoming D23 fan event. According to Belloni, this is because the Lucasfilm boss isn't yet at the point where she's comfortable moving forward with the Star Wars movies currently in development, including a rumored project spearheaded by Lost's Damon Lindelof. Belloni added that Kennedy's hesitancy could stem from her desire not to replicate past instances in which she promoted films that have so far failed to materialize. He also notes that this will likely leave at least a five-year gap between 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the saga's next cinematic installment.

Leslye Headland tapped as the series director, writer, exec producer and showrunner. Headland has been very hands-on with Lucasfilm execs including President Kathleen Kennedy in putting together a diverse, A-list ensemble, and with Steinberg, Turner-Smith and now Lee, it looks to be headed in that direction.

Kennedy really is a moron.
All they have to do drop the woke stuff and go back in time. Diversity in Star Wars is already naturally a thing, do not waste time making sure people notice it by shoving it in their face. Just let it happen. The gay shite can just die, it really feels unnatural and forced. We do not need a homo or hetero love story, that has been done.
Go back to the beginning, the way beginning. Old Republic, rise of the Jedi and Sith.

The quality of the content has definitely dropped over the past few years. I honestly cannot think of anything I am looking forward with them, especially with Marvel fatigue setting in for me. Star Wars is a shitshow except maybe Mandalorian.

Not a D23 announcement, but HUGE casting news for the spin-off series. Can't say I'm too familiar with his work, but he looks the part. Really excited for this series.

Filoni help create a character people liked and loved and they are nailing the real-life likeness.
