quote:

Reliable industry source and Puck columnist Matt Belloni recently stated in his newsletter that Kennedy won't be announcing any big screen additions to the franchise at the upcoming D23 fan event. According to Belloni, this is because the Lucasfilm boss isn't yet at the point where she's comfortable moving forward with the Star Wars movies currently in development, including a rumored project spearheaded by Lost's Damon Lindelof. Belloni added that Kennedy's hesitancy could stem from her desire not to replicate past instances in which she promoted films that have so far failed to materialize. He also notes that this will likely leave at least a five-year gap between 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the saga's next cinematic installment.

Marvel will have a lot to announce, and rumor is we'll be getting an Indiana Jones trailer. What are you hoping to see?

Casting news for the Acolyte show

quote:

The eve of his potential historic night at the Emmys, Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae looks to have found his first major American studio role following that breakout in a property more popular then the Netflix global phenomenon.

Sources tell Deadline that Lee has landed the male lead in the new Disney+ Star Wars series The Acolyte from Lucasfilm. Amandla Steinberg is set for the other lead role, with Deadline also recently breaking the news that Jodie Turner-Smith also is joining cast. Leslye Headland tapped as the series director, writer, exec producer and showrunner. Headland has been very hands-on with Lucasfilm execs including President Kathleen Kennedy in putting together a diverse, A-list ensemble, and with Steinberg, Turner-Smith and now Lee, it looks to be headed in that direction.

Kennedy really is a moron.

All they have to do drop the woke stuff and go back in time. Diversity in Star Wars is already naturally a thing, do not waste time making sure people notice it by shoving it in their face. Just let it happen. The gay shite can just die, it really feels unnatural and forced. We do not need a homo or hetero love story, that has been done.

Go back to the beginning, the way beginning. Old Republic, rise of the Jedi and Sith.

Starting to think that they don't have, or do not want to pay (keeping everyone already on the inside taken care of), someone that knows these stories

Pretty sure that's done for. WW84 was bad. I think Disney got cold feet after that.

Good. I don’t need 900 year old Yoda in my life grooming younglings via extortion to suck his dick in order to free their mommies from galactic white oppression

The quality of the content has definitely dropped over the past few years. I honestly cannot think of anything I am looking forward with them, especially with Marvel fatigue setting in for me. Star Wars is a shitshow except maybe Mandalorian.

'Ahsoka': Eman Esfandi To Play Live-Action Ezra Bridger in Disney+ 'Star Wars' Series
quote:

Disney+ has found its Ezra Bridger. Eman Esfandi has been tapped to play the animated character in Disney+’s live-action Ahsoka series, sources have confirmed to Deadline. Lucasfilm declined comment.

Not a D23 announcement, but HUGE casting news for the spin-off series. Can't say I'm too familiar with his work, but he looks the part. Really excited for this series.

He does and this is going to be a moment not a damn person will care he is not pasty white.

Filoni help create a character people liked and loved and they are nailing the real-life likeness.

As long as you create a good character, people are not going to be pissed what they are. They are going to get pissed if you change a character around to meet a quota.

It's all trash. Throwing out a ton of content at low quality isn't working for them no matter how much wokeness they inject.

Star wars just doesn't work with modern pop-culture values because it was never made with social media influences nihilism in mind.
