Honestly, as absurd as it may seem, they may be able to sink the film in the way they sunk Lightyear with the trans ideology. I can’t believe I’m about to say this but… “trans kids” tend to identify with this movie greatly because what’s between their legs doesn’t represent what’s between their ears and they want to be in another world. Warning disturbing footage from I Am Jazz on mermaids.

Granted it doesn’t help that Ursula is quite literally based on drag queens, but I’m fine with a drag queen being the villain in children’s stories and they have been for quite some time. It says to kids “Hey, see that thing? If you ever see anyone who looks and acts like that in any way, shape or form, run in the opposite direction and do not go near them.” That’s good lesson to teach kids.

Granted Disney has wised up after the flop that was Lightyear and are going to instruct the cast and crew to shut the frick up about LGBT allegories. You know at least one woke journalist is going to ask someone on the film if this is an allegory to being trans.

If they stay far away from that, I’m going 800 million from the box office. imjustafatkid is right that Beauty and the Beast had good will and trailers going into it, so I don’t think it will make BatB numbers with that in mind, but the Little Mermaid probably has the best soundtrack of all the Disney films so that’s something it has going for it like BatB did (LM’s only musical contemporary as far as I see).
