That’s what we thought about Lightyear too right? I wouldn’t bring my kids to see it if I had them. I know a lot of guys who think similarly about Disney recently

While I thought that, unless they’re majorly changing “The Little Mermaid” (Ariel being black isn’t enough since I said I don’t think Zendaya would have been a bad choice a few years back), then I expect it to do around Beauty and the Beast. It’s probably in Disney’s Top 5 most beloved animated films, so they’d really have to go out and insult the audience directly to get Lightyear numbers.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that a bunch of middle aged sports message board guys with oddly strong opinions about this movie aren’t their target audience for this one.

They couldn't just make a new Peter Pan movie. It just had to be Peter Pan and Wendy.

Not familiar with the story? Peter Pan has always been about Wendy...

Perfect opportunity to make Ariel trans since she’s going to have bottom “surgery” via Ursula. I want to go suggest this on 4chan to have the autist army troll liberals on Twitter that we’re not upset Ariel is black but rather that she’s not gay and trans

No way man. All of these live action remakes have sucked. Even if they didn't make Ariel black, I don't think this would do near what Beauty and the Beast did.

If you said that to them, they'd cancel you.

Remember the guy who wrote a review for Turning Red and said he clearly wasn't the target audience? LINK LINK

These people hate you, and they hate your white knighting for them even more than they hate you. Wake up and realize you are arguing against your own best interest.

Makes sense. Fewer than 20 movies have ever done the business that the awful beauty and the beast remake did.

Yep. People were quite fooled by that one. No one's fooled by Disney live action remakes anymore.

ETA: Beauty and the Beast wasn't awful, but Emma Watson was awful as Belle. Simply awful casting choice.

Tell me, how fat are you and what kind of wife do you have on the OT scale? Or it may be how many dicks you had at decadence and the severity of your monkeypox

So Ariel drowns in the first few minutes of the movie?

I thought the same thing. Not a fan of the red dreadlocks either. She's an R&B singer. You can tell by the way she sings the lyrics and it sucks.

Yeah, Peter is not the main character in Disney’s Peter Pan and most renditions of the story. Wendy is the main character. I don’t have much of a problem with them calling it Peter Pan and Wendy.

Yeah, the trailers were great for it as well and it was on the heels of the only good live action remake of The Jungle Book, so it had good will built up going into it. Honestly they should have done live action Beauty and the Beast a decade before when they had the two perfect actors at the right age and they weren’t likely going to find anyone that good again: Anne Hathaway as Belle and Hugh Jackman as Gaston (Luke Evans was a fine Gaston to be fair), and Hugh Jackman actually portrayed Gaston on Broadway. Both are spitting images and they can sing their asses off, but they were too old to portray the characters by 2016:
