re: Cobra Kai Season 5 (Released Today) Official Discussion Thread - Spoilers Welcome

I just finished up Season 5...WOW...still hooked!!! I don't know how they did it, but they did!! Episode 9 and 10 had me on the freaking edge of my seat. With most of the kids about to graduate high school, i thought they did a great job of moving the show into a new "adult" phase. I think Johnny and Carmen will for sure have a girl. It just makes sense. I actually really like Miguel and Robby being big brothers to a baby sister. That just feels right to me. You can see the writing on the wall for Season 6 being the last season and ending as one of the best Movie/Series ever made!!
Just a couple of interesting thoughts. They still haven't wrote Sid's (Ed Asner RIP) character out of the show...and I think that will play a MAJOR role in how this all ends. I think in the end...Sid will die and low and behold, Johnny inherits all of Sid's fortune. This allows Johnny/Carmen/Miguel/Robby/Tori and their new baby to live their lives free of worry and finally can enjoy life and ride off into the sunset.
Also, we got closer, but we STILL haven't learned who Tori's mother is...Hilary Swank? It feels like it's somebody we already know and somebody important...thus the reason why they specifically and purposefully only show us her legs. Maybe that will play a major surprise in the next season?
Lastly...Kenny Payne's brother...i don't feel like we have seen the last of him yet and Robby's relationship with both Kenny and his brother could play a huge role if he is released from jail, considering how Robby and Kenny's relationship has turned. Keep an open mind to that!!
I actually really like the idea of the world Karate competition...This would open up a whole new story line and characters that we haven't been introduced to yet. All in all...another entertaining season for Cobra Kai. They deserve all the recognition they get!!

If I'm Terry I'm importing Muay Thai fighters from Thailand who have been raised in fighting dungeons their whole lives, and also BJJ technicians from South America and just calling it Cobra Kai hoping daniel comes back so he can get owned by a 12 year old.

The area this is set is incredibly small. It is basically from Ventura Blvd, and a few neighborhoods south of it, north to Sherman Way between highway 27 to the west and the 405 to the east. You are talking about maybe 25 square miles.

Chozen is too cheesy. The Chozen from KK would never conduct himself that way.
Daniel continues to go against any and all teachings from Myagi.
Daniel’s wife and Barnes are the only ones with sense. Does any successful adult really get wrapped up in a karate contest?
Overall a lot of the acting is really bad.
Johnny Lawrence carries the show. Outside of him, the show is really bad.

I agree that Robby is a better fighters than Hawk, and only lost because Robby was distracted by Kenny, but Miguel is a better fighter than Robby. Miguel even had Robby beaten once again and on the ground in the apartment complex fight before they made amends. Heck, it even looked like Robby accepted that Miguel had him beat just like Miguel had him beat in the school fight which is why he asked why Miguel didn't finish him that time.
It'll be interesting to see how they address the international tournament next season with who will be the winner. I could definitely see one of them getting taken out/losing a match because of some illegal hit, and the other avenging them and beating whoever the big bad for the kids is.

Since when has Daniel ever took into consideration how his actions affect others? Daniel is the most hot headed person in the KK universe, and rarely considers the consequences that others have to face when he flies off the handle.

Couple of other thoughts...I was REALLY pissed Mike Barnes disappeared after the store burning down and was thinking there is no way he goes out like that and then lo and behold. Nice save. Would've liked to see him rampage a little more at Silver's. Absolute animal.
Also, I too hate Kenny. What a little piece of shite that kid is. Did anyone else notice how close Anthony LaRusso was to snapping his neck on the side of the lazy river?? Also, shoving his face in that toilet bowl in a post Covid world which might have a STD or three?
Nope. If I was Anthony I would've crippled Kenny after those events.

The Mexico scenes in the first 2 episodes was some seriously ridiculous stuff even for this show.
