Just a very insightful take from the best filmmaker alive explaining why your favorite YouTube outrage merchants are clowns.

Auteur makes garbage film & mocks mere YouTubers for pointing out how he completely missed the point of the classic he tried to adapt.

This is getting as bad as music critics and Radiohead.
You must love and praise everything Radiohead does and if you don't, you're just too dumb to get it. Go away peasant.

Nolan has made some good films and a few great ones, but easy on the worship. The bar is very low these days. He's not above any criticism, even what he deems "amateur".

I've tried to get into Radiohead, even bought a couple of their albums. Didn't care for them. Outside of Creep, everything they do is pretentious shite. Radiohead fans always get bent out of shape when you tell them their favorite is a lousy rock band.

Nolan is in the discussion for best filmaker alive. Easy to see how someone could have him on top.
It's been over a decade since Spielberg has made a memorable movie and could be argued it's closer to 20 years. He has put out a lot of turds. I had very high hopes for Disclosure Day but like almost all of his movies now it severely disappointed. Borderline awful.
Tarantino would be #1 for me. Coen Bros would certainly be in the discussion and Denis Villenueve has probably worked himself in the discussion as well. Clint Eastwood, Francis For Copolla, a handful of others probably have a case to be made.

Pablo Honey, Hail to the Thief, Amnesiac, and everything after In Rainbows is arse. Yet there are fans/critics who insist that everything Radiohead has put out is amazing.
Which is the point the previous poster was trying to make. Some people insist that everything Nolan has made is amazing when he really only has a handful of good movies.
Also Nolan has the same issue Judd Apatow had. Even his “great” movies are 30 minutes too long. Except maybe the Prestige

I don't think everything he has done is amazing, but it's kind of laughable to say he's only made about 5 good movies.

When was the last time Spielberg made a truly fantastic movie? The same question can be asked of Scorsese. Both men were the best in the business in their primes but Spielberg is turning 80 this year and Scorsese is about to be 84. Both men are coasting on their well-earned reputations but have not made films that have truly transcended the film industry in quite a while.

Comparing Nolan to Apatow is not something I thought I'd see today lol.
I also disagree that his great movies, aside from the prestige, are all 30 minutes too long. Memento, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Inception, and Interstellar are all very rewatchable and I never find myself waiting for them to end. Oppenheimer was a bit long though, haven't seen the Odyssey

Following, Insomnia, Dunkirk, Tenet, and Oppenheimer are mid. Dark Knight Rises is trash.

Oppenheimer won best picture. It's fine if you think it's overrated but it is certainly widely viewed as a great movie.
You're missing The Odyssey and Insomnia. Both are good. I'd definitely argue Dunkirk is at least good and pretty fairly rated overall.
He definitely has a high hit rate (especially compared to his peers) and you're in the minority on this one. Though I do agree with the Radiohead statement
